Overwatch targets Mei cheaters

Overwatch players who have been tearing their hair out at a widespread exploit in matches will be happy to know that Blizzard has taken action to crack down on the cheat and those using it.

Apparently some players had figured out how to do all sorts of game-breaking things with Mei’s Ice Wall ability that rendered them invincible and move past the level boundaries. In response, Blizzard instituted a fix yesterday and said that it will continue to monitor the situation.

“This bug is clearly an exploit and we consider this cheating,” Game Director Jeff Kaplan said on the forums.. Do not attempt to reproduce this bug. If you see someone abusing this mechanic, please report them. We will be taking action against those who abused this exploit […] Apologies that this bug lingered for as long as it did. Hopefully this should go away soon (along with those who abused it).”
