Star Citizen’s Around the Verse explores the music of Squadron 42

16

Music and sound for Squadron 42 is the focus of this week’s Star Citizen Across the Verse show. The team brought on Emmy Award-winning Composer Geoff Zanelli to handle the score, who is also the focus of the episode’s featured interview. Zanelli has worked on a variety of projects, including several Pirates of the Caribbean films, HBO’s The Pacific miniseries, and the Call of Duty Nintendo DS games.

You can watch the episode after the break (and the music interview begins at the five-minute mark).

Trying to convince us that something is happening with SQ42, again/still.
Given up waiting myself and I have started playing Elite Dangerous.

Oh and I am a backer of Star Citizen btw.

I’ve paid $50 for the game up to this point.

Roughly as much as I pay for any game.

So what are you trying to tell me?

That is a bit of a silly comment to make because people who are not developers are still entitled to an opinion on the development of mmos especially when over a hundred million dollars of crowd funded money is involved .

While I am sure progress is being made the general impression most people I know seem to have of this game is that development is dragging on a bit and it’s probably going to be a few more years before we see either Squadron 42 or Star Citizen released but equally many of them are resigned to that and just hope the game when it’s released is amazing so the time taken to develop it will be well spent .

I guess we will know one way or another in a few years time ( hopefully sooner ) .

So because they don’t show you what you want to see or things don’t progress at the speed you want or expect it to, there is no progression?

Since you seem to know how this is done why don’t you try to make a game of the scope, scale and complexity of SC in less time, or get a job at CIG and show them how to do it.

In other words, because they don’t show you want you want to see they don’t show anything of value.

It may not be of value to you, but it will be of value to others.
Though it seems to me that no matter what they say or do, you are always trying to find some kind of fault with what they do.

But I’m curious, what would you consider to be of value?

Always the same crap from the same people shooting vaporware but different words.. Deekay_Plus is one of them. For info I have made a site dedicated to decipher lies, prophecies and have fun of we know who and his few followers.

Beside that. 3.0 will be a tremendous addition to SQ42 and SC. Definitively the first semester of 2017 is going to be a bit flat. Since evolution of scope to AAA, CIG did a brilliant job. It shoes in the released modules. The vast majority (I would guess 95%) of backers are just waiting to get 3.0 and next patch to pay a bit more attention. 2017 is key… but not beginning of 2017. At Nov 2017 it will be 5 years since end of Kickstarter with a team of 12.
Everything is fine.

I have to agree that the last several ATV episodes have been less than stellar. They started out good with the new format but now it just feels too marketing-y and less information-y.

I found it to be quite insightful and worthy of the view. It’s nice to see.

IDK – I found the Foundry 42 studio update segment that showed the continuing progress on procedural planets (and moons) interesting. I’m not all that interested in the actual ‘music system’ (and that goes for any/every MMO I’ve played) – but others are, so for them it was probably a good ‘episode’ front to back. And that’s not to say I don’t like the music in SC/SQ42 as I do – I just really don’t care about how they select what is played during play.
