The Elder Scrolls Online takes a closer look at the Morrowind trailer

Well, it does have bears, that's good.
The obvious response to the latest trailer for The Elder Scrolls Online is to find the nearest person working on the game and request – nay, demand – more information about the upcoming expansion. Sadly, that’s not going to work. There are laws and all of that. You’ll have to settle for this beat-by-beat analysis from the official site if you want to tease more information from the trailer if you’ve already seen it, or watch it again down below.

While the recap obviously does not include any outright new information (after all, it’s all in the trailer), it might alert you to a few details you missed in the heat of the moment. Spoilers: Naryu Virian, the Morag Tong, Vivec, the Dwemer, Red Mountain… it’s all the good stuff. Our own Larry took an even closer look from the viewpoint of a fan rather than a developer, so you can compare and contrast the two to see who may be noticing more obscure details. Until more actual details are announced, anyhow. What else did you have planned for the day, really?

I love ESO it is the only mmo I play the game isn’t raid or die, it is easy to pick up but has complexity at end game. The people in game are amazing very friendly helpful and polite, but the forum community is full of LOL rejects. I have never seen so much venom and hate on a MMO forum before, but as long as folks stay out of the Toxic field they should have a good experience…but I pity the ones that swing by the forums first

I’m a sucker for pet classes. The fact that there’s some support powers along with the pet is just gravy, delicious gravy.

Elder Scrolls Online is the one fantasy-themed MMORPG which keeps pulling me back these days — but I find I’m having trouble keeping my gear matched to my level now that I’m a Nightblade past level 50.

Basically, my general level keeps outstripping my crafting levels, no matter how hard I try to keep the latter up, and buying appropriate gear on the player-market (when you can even find what you need) is almost always far too expensive to warrant its price.

As a result, I find I’m routinely getting my head handed to me in the usual solo PvE mission, simply because the game expects me to be as tough as my level, when my gear lags noticeably behind.

Not complaining, just wondering if I’m missing a gameplay tactic here which would fix the problem? Joing a guild is not an option; I really don’t have the time to join another guild in any MMORPG right now.

Cheers,

Just do your daily missions (dungeons) in normal mode and you’ll pick up more loot than you need. It will not be Best In Slot, but it will be good enough for whatever solo pve challenges you may encounter. If it is an equipment problem only, then it’ll be solved.

Thank you! I don’t need the best gear available, only something which more-or-less matches my level, so I can keep playing. I’m tired of dying during boss battles. :-)

Lets play guess the warden abilities.
Quote from developer play by play –
“He uses a depiction of Sleet Storm, one of the new Warden abilities. This ability creates a hailstorm around the caster to deal damage and reduces the impact of incoming attacks for the Warden and his allies. ”
Is that the ability we see at 2:20 when the warden creates an explosive storm with his hands? Seeing how it builds up, maybe its an ultimate ability? I read that the bear is an ultimate also.
It also looks like warden can shoot ice balls and can create an ice wall as well. Maybe ice wall could be a magicka block attack?

Supposedly

Ice Powers will be his tanking set
Nature powers will be his healing set
Animal powers will be his DPS set.

Like you, ive read that the bear is his ultimate ability. Which makes me wonder, is the bear always out? Or does it only stay out for 30 seconds? Or does the ultimate simply do something like WoW’s Beastial Wrath ability, giving the bear a burst of damage and defense for a short duration?

I really hope that its out 100% of the time. Id like there to be other animals you can call for short durations with his other creature powers.

They said that the bear ultimate has two morphs. One of them adds a boost to damages done by the bear, the other allows the bear to remain as long as he is alive, and to come back immediately when he is killed. So yeah, you can have your bear friend with you all day long.

Im a little confused on the mechanics will work if the bear is an ultimate but the bear stays with you all the time. Do you slot the ultimate, cant summon bear at first so wait until you have enough ultimate points to summon bear, then open your skill bar and switch to another ultimate since you dont need to cast it again? or do you have to keep the ultimate slotted?

It looks like I will be using the morph that has the bear come back after its killed. Since there are no pet bars to watch health I always fail to notice when my sorcerer pets died which happens often.

Think sorcerer’s “Bound Armaments” skill. No charge time here like for most ultimates, but you do have to keep it slotted and activated in order to use it. That’s my guess.

and the bear is like “hey, can someone with opposable thumbs pull these damn arrows out of my body!”

While that’s an impressive video clip and I gotta admit I go “oh wow”, I really dislike trailers like that. The game play and world doesn’t look like that so it comes off as bait and switch. It really is a cool looking video though.

p.s: Bree. Is there going to be a way to go to our setting and just set “Notify me of new replies to my comments”? Instead of having to set it every time?

I guess they were always good at trailers…

Are they done by the ones who did the SWTOR ones ?

I don’t think so. I just remember the first ESO trailer looked pretty badass.

It does look a bit like the trailers Blur Studios makes for games, doesn’t it? I don’t think it is though — I think it’s something Zenimax made in-house.

I could be wrong though — I’ve been wrong before — a lot :-)
