Hearthstone gives a helping hand to arena mode
Hearthstone’s arena is getting some much-needed love from the developers in the hopes that players will flock back to this game mode.

The biggest change in store for arena in Update 7.1 is the switch from wild format to standard. This is being done because arena was getting a little too wild, apparently: “Attempting to create decks that utilize these meaningful synergies in a wide and diluted card pool will become more and more difficult as the wild card pool grows larger.”

But wait, that’s not all! Arena will be tossing in a higher percentage of rare cards, pushing out more spell cards than before, holding back boring neutral classic cards, and including players’ own golden card visuals if any are owned.

The update should be coming before the end of the month, so keep your eyes peeled!

There’s a card game called eternal on steam, and I find myself playing that instead of hearthstone. I just play forge and gauntlet against the AI get a few cards and handful of gold, the random booster pack. Even with a starter deck I do well against the AI, though sometimes I get smoked by the AI. That’s all I want in a card game. Poke the AI get some new cards, play as little or as much as I want. Last time I played hearthstone I couldn’t play the AI with a starter deck and playing other players with a starter deck isn’t that fun.

Solo Adventures > Practice. There are two settings, basic (AI has basic cards only) and Advanced (AI cards from basic and classic sets).
Unfortunately, only the intro quests and Total Dominance can be completed in practice mode meaning that the rewards are minimal for any hero greater than level 10.
