Were you wondering why Imperial-themed starter town Seyda Neen looks like Seyda Neen 700 years earlier in The Elder Scrolls Online’s Morrowind expansion, before Imperial occupation? Turns out it’s a trading company outpost. That’s just one of the lore tidbits dropped during the latest ZeniMax Twitch stream, which also tours the ruins of Skar and what will become the Redoran capital, the Telvanni base of Sadrith Mora, the under-construction Velothi-themed Vivec cantons, and the Hlaalu town of Balmora, which looks way more towering and epic than in the classic game. Spoilers: siltstriders!

Meanwhile, ZeniMax says it’s “making Cyrodiil performance evaluation and fixing a priority this year” and running PvP performance tests to that end, the first of which is today. And Kotaku shined a spotlight on the game’s botting problem, which I’ve personally witnessed in-game myself.

We’ve tucked the Twitch stream below; the art starts around 25 minutes, or you can hold out for the gameplay at the 29-minute mark.
