Have you done everything you wanted to do in Diablo III’s Season 9 challenge? If not, the good news is that you still have a little bit of time. The bad news is that it really is just a little time, as the current season is ending on March 17th. So you might be able to clear one or two final challenges along the way, but you’ll be out of luck if you’re trying to accomplish something big with zero progress up to this point.
Whether you’re out of luck or you’ve gotten almost everything done, you’ll still be able to greet the new season on March 31st. The usual rules about transitions between seasons and the de-seasonification of seasonal characters will apply; if you’re unfamiliar with the transition, check out the full rundown to see what happens to your seasonal challenge characters and what transfers over to your normal play in about a week.
The annoying thing about Seasons is I get interested for about a week and then get bored only to find out the season’s about to end as soon as I show interest again.
If a season ends in Diablo 3 and no ones there to see it does it make a sound?
This is probably one of the first seasons I’m actually looking forward to trying out and playing. Wardrobe system means I won’t need to roll 4 different characters of the same class each season for various purposes. Also the account wide material bank is also handy but simultaneously a bit less important now that I don’t need to manage 4 different characters of the same class.
Diablo 3 is gonna have to step up its game. With all the huge things PoE is doing over the next several months, D3’s necromancer and “yet another season” is gonna fall very short of being able to compete.
Diablo 3 was never going to be a true “platform” for constant expansion and growth. After getting the game on track with “Loot 2.0” and the expansion, they have updated it in a traditional Blizzard game manner (actually they added way more in D3 than they did in D2 post launch). Diablo 3 made an absurd amount of money.
Maybe a “Diablo 4” could be more of a platform if they think that is what Diablo players want, but I’m not sure if that is what I would want from a new Diablo game.
Each game appeals to different kinds of players. I was hugely put off during the time I played POE and all it did was drive me right back into playing Diablo 3 instead.
The only thing that will catch Diablo up to Path is a possible D4.
I don’t think Blizz wants to put the effort into their game that GGG does. GGG only has the one game to worry about after all.
