Diablo III finally brings seasons to consoles

whoop, there it isn't

Remember how Blizzard told us that it just wasn’t going to implement its Diablo III season campaigns for the game’s console versions? A year later and it seems that either the studio had a change of heart or its technical wizards figured out how to make it happen because console seasons are about to kick off at the end of this month.

On March 31st, both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will enjoy their very first seasonal journey in the game, offering players an opportunity to level up new characters to pursue special challenges. Players can either create a brand-new character from scratch for the season or choose to “rebirth” an existing character back to level 1 for the duration of the event.

Diablo III’s seasons come with a lot of extra content, including special rewards, seasonal conquests, and leaderboards. The first console season will coincide with the 10th season for PC players “to create parity going forward” between the platforms.

In more immediate Diablo news, patch 2.5.0 has gone live this morning, primarily focused on adjustments to greater rifts.

Ummmm what the heck???!! Diablo 3 is barley even a thing anymore and now they are bring season to console for it? I really think at this point bringing out a necro and adding seasons to console is just way to little , way to late. Shpuld of cared more about the game while it was still somewhat popular and fixable.

Have you played it since the Loot 2.0 patch and Reaper of Souls expansion? It is astonishingly better than it was at launch.

Of course i did :) , i agree it is much better. Still though most have moved on because of limited customization. Littlerally only a couple good builds per class leaving people bored after a couple hundred hours.

I wonder if this is in response to PoE announcing they’re making console ports.

They been planning seasons on console for a while.

Even then I don’t think the markets are really the same. While the genre is certainly the same (ARPG) the reality is that POE makes money by micro transactions where D3 is more of a box purchase thing to which they’re already one of the top performing video games of all time (like #11 or something last I checked) so probably aren’t hurting there.

Neat. Shame everyone i know sold it a year ago or more assuming it was dead and getting no more updates.
But hey maybe folks still playing it for some reason will get a season or two before going ‘this is actually just kind of boring” like everyone who stuck to pc did.

Oh cool, that’s really neat.

Maybe they should figure out how to make the seasons actually more interesting. I’m pretty tired of the treadmill of constantly restarting from scratch, which is why I stopped playing. I wanted to actually see my progression, rather than being poked to start a brand new character…or reroll my current one.

Seasons, the biggest waste of time and content block. Folks like me do not appreciate the mindless grind to get an inventory tab. As it is I login once a week at best for about 30 minutes to an hour, mostly to see if anything has happened and then its back to life.

The blizzard devs are clueless or simply do not give a shit when it comes to consumer wants or concerns, even for those of us that use the game very little. The game is made, built for lifers and gold sellers/account sellers.

Blizzard turns a blind eye to bots and these types of gamer’s and let them thrive while the rest of us have little choice but to do something else.

I heard that the armory doesn’t even keep gear, it simply moves it to and from your last storage spot, what stupidity on blizzards part.

As for seasons, they are simply automation made to keep those lifers chasing a bunch of shit.

Now they can share the misery of an excruciating grind that resets every 3-4 months.
