To celebrate the game’s anniversary and tease the upcoming ESO content, Bethsoft has a brand-new teaser video out this morning with gorgeous vistas bookended by geek gushing and dev team quotes. But that music is what gets me every time. Enjoy!

I would rather have got an updated Morrowind for the 15 year than this.
Maybe Bethesda will do something for it eventually, like for the 20th anniversary. Who knows. HD remakes are all the rage these days.
Very excited. I abandoned ESO not long after launch, but since coming back 6 months ago I’ve been having a blast.
This game makes me feel like I did when I was first playing Daggerfall and EQ, it is without a doubt the best MMO of the past 18 years.
I knew nothing about Elder Scrolls when my friend game me the 999 burned discs of Morrowind back in 2002. I installed it on my PC that I had built, fired it up annnnnnnnnd… it barely ran. It was slightly better than a slide show.
I played the crap out of it though.
Years later when I was interviewing for a QA position at Sega of America I was asked to write down a descriptive paragraph of a bug that I found in a game.
I wrote about one time I was playing Morrowind I discovered that I could kill the town guards and steal their glass gear by hiding behind shop counters and shooting them with arrows for forever until they finally died. They seemingly were unable to reach me behind the counter.
I got the job. :)
Damned if that music doesn’t get me every time. It’s up there with Star Wars music as an emotional trigger.
Got my beta invite the other day. Seyda Neen, here I come!
The expansion is going to be weird for me. I hadn’t played any of the Elder Scrolls single-player games until Skyrim, a couple of years ago. I’ve never played Morrowind at all. I play ESO now and I’m a little worried that the expansion will be full of references that I don’t get. Of course, I don’t get any non-Skyrim references in the rest of the game, so I guess that it won’t be a big change.
For sure, there will be Easter Eggs and other references that seem weird to you. But I doubt they are going to be so dense as to make it inaccessible to new players. I’ve been playing TES since Arena, but much of how it’s presented in ESO is fairly general in its level of density and reference — certainly no more so than any other fantasy MMO. If you like ESO and Skyrim at all, you’ll love Morrowind for the setting alone. It’s that cool.
