Pantheon unveils the second part of its early Monk preview

Monastic.

Harsh environments, energetic punches, and the ever-present specter of death, all of this can be found within the archive of the most recent Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen livestream event. You can watch that whole thing just below if you want, although we should warn you that it’s an hour and a half long. Don’t do so five minutes before you’re supposed to leave for work or a class, that’s what we’re saying here.

If you need the same information in a more digestible format, a Reddit user has helpfully assembled a summary of the two-part stream going over the game’s Acclimation system, the early Monk abilities on display, death, and so forth. Sure, you miss out on gameplay footage, but it includes interesting information about how the combat will get more dynamic through varied NPC dispositions and how enemies will have different tactics and routines based on the situations. Some enemies will be afraid of fire, some will force you to knock them out of cover while they lay down a swarm of arrows, and so forth. Check out the stream just below, or read up on the summary if you just need the details now.

Supported and waiting for Alpha. I am so sick of modern MMOs. They are either spoon feeding content, cash-shop money machines, or an eastern grindfests. MMOs really lost their way over the years, and I am glad somebody is working on a true MMORPG again.

The only game I ever gave money before it was released and cant say I regret it.

Yet at least.

Thanks for posting so quick Eliot! I am currently the conductor of the hype train for this title!

Enjoyed the streams other than not being able to watch them as they are happening. Overall, looking forward to their progress. Still on the fence with some things but as they said multiple times during both streams, mechanics are still in the early stages, so things can change. Looking forward to more.

Or you could just find a small and friendly, family oriented guild. Im not trying to be argumentative. Its just a less pessimistic view. Or hell get a static group you can meet with.

But yes the game will have a group focus. That means that they are not making much content specifically with solo in mind. But they have said they are not going to stop people from soling if they really need/want to. It might not be the best or most efficient option, and it might limit some things you can do. But it wont be impossible.

This. I always liked to play with a regular group of friends/family. We could do an entire dungeon without having to even talk strategies – we played together so much it was second nature. Such good times.

I’m excited for this game, but the focus on group content seems to be at the expense of solo content, not alongside it. This makes it difficult for working Moms and Dads to pop in and play a bit here and there. Unless you belong to a cold, impersonal mega-guild where you can get a group of your liking in a snap, too much of our precious playtime will be spent LFG. This really concerns me.
