“Every attack and heal using fists generates fury,” the studio explained. “When your fury meter gets above a threshold you can activate frenzied wrath or invigorating wrath. You will gain new, powerful abilities while under the effect of wrath. You can continue to use those abilities until your fury meter is fully drained.”

For a game launching this month, shouldn’t there be … publicity? I have read nothing at all about the upcoming launch on any site other than this one, and it’s always covered this game. Shouldn’t there have been something at E3, for instance?
where’s our Bruce Lee meme, Schlag?
It is impressive how bad most of those combat animations still look :(
Compared to the original ones, these are orders of magnitude better. Night and freaking day.
A magnitude? Night and freaking day? Exaggerate much? I don’t see such huge improvements that warrant “night and day” comparisons at all.
It might be my experience in the beta talking then.
But keep in mind that I’m not saying the new animations are spectacular. They are… adequate. The older ones were just that bad, especially for claws.
My first thought had other ideas about the subject’s heading…and I am sure if Mr. Schlag was around he could elaborate that. As I am sure we’ll be both banned if we posted about it. So, I’ll just leave it that. #saynomore :(
…or your nose and my pigtails will be lopped off by the Bree garden shears. Don’t want that to happen. :(
I find your lack of memes disturbing.
It… looks like, just going from the video mind you, the Wrath skills take up spots on your ability bars. So, if you don’t want to use up a slot on one of the Wrath skills, your Fury mechanic is totally useless? The deep dive page doesn’t mention any effects that Fury itself has on your character, other than being a resource for the Wrath skills.
The Wrath abilities popped up in a new toolbar, so it seems you don’t need to sacrifice slots or anything of that sort. Those were extras, and using them is optional because you have to activate Wrath manually. But why wouldn’t you want to use them, when they are a direct boost to damage/healing?
Need a Rev. Harry Powell outfit…
I’ve always been a big fan of the trickster gameplay style – chaos/fist, up close and personal. I love the look of the new chaos weapon style! Fist … well … not so much.

There’s a video for chaos magic, too.
Anyway, claws are just super weird. Not a fan of “rage bars”, even less so when it means having a dead skill slot that transforms into a different but very temporary skill bar.
Not convinced about that one.
Chaos magic looks right up my alley. I think that’s the one I’m going to go with.
Chaos Magic aka I keep choosing to hit chaos attacks and keep the enemy on me and hoping something useful happens.
I don’t mind Rage mechanics, necessarily. The one on the Hammer looks fine to me, for instance.
The dead skill slot is pretty galling here, though. Blades at least give you a self-heal if you don’t consume your Chi via Spirit Blade. The deep dive page doesn’t say anything about any effects Fury might have other than being a resource for the Wrath skills.
Yeah, it does nothing, like the other build up ressources shown.
Worrying thing is that it’s also significantly longer to fill up the fury gauge compared to the others (you can see them fast forwarding in the video…).
Why is it a dead skill slot? It may not be spammable, but it’s the same thing as claiming that a party buff on a long cooldown is useless (when in fact they were highly sought out for group content in Nightmare Dungeons).
This wrath indicator is almost as terrible as their default reticle
