Both are centered around magic, although they really couldn’t be any more different. Blood magic uses the player’s own health to perform various attacks and heals, pushing a meter further in one direction or the other. The further the meter goes toward DPS or healing, the more potent the abilities become and the harder it is for the player to be healed.
Chaos magic, on the other hand, is a little more predictable (if you couldn’t guess by the name). When a player does damage divisible by eight, he or she triggers paradoxes that can perform a few different types of beneficial effects.

The fact that being so close to launch and the NDA is still up worries me.
I have to say blood magic was my biggest gameplay disappointment in TSW. I’m usually a healer type and I found the animation to be sorta ugly. it looked like rubber banding to me.
So I just concentrated on blasting things with an assault rifle – good fun after so many games where I was an archer.
I have to apologise to Funcom for ranting about not getting a beta key up to now. Found it sitting in an old email account this morning, loading up now
Would love some communication from Funcom. For some reason TSW on Steam started downloading a 15GB patch yesterday and…nobody can figure out why. No word from Funcom, nothing really changed apparently (someone said it fixed a few issues with never-ending loading screens for them), just radio silence.
That’s a pretty huge patch to not say anything about.
Even though Funcom said the Steam launch is postponed until end of July, I wouldn’t be surprised if on the 26th of this month, people who got their TSW client via Steam suddenly end up with a SWL client over night.
I’d suggest a backup if you want to keep TSW. Just in case.
A few folks downloaded it and can still log in and play TSW apparently, so it shouldn’t be transitioning TSW into SWL.
Hence the complete and utter confusion : /
Some of the specialities seem a bit arbitrary, but these two at least are pretty thematic.
I got in beta way back, this will be on my drive once it’s released.
ESO and this, finally got a combo which works well for me. Will be mostly ESO and for a change of pace this will do very nicely.
Overall i like the new version, i just stopped in the beta, kinda burnt out repeating everything, but not burnt enough that I’m tired of the game so, think that pretty much speaks for itself on how much I’m enjoying this new iteration.
Come on June 26th hurry up!!!
You’re ok with all the RNG then ?
hows the combat? is it actiony?
“Chaos magic, on the other hand, is a little more predictable (if you couldn’t guess by the name)”
Should be the unpredictable, no?
I think they meant that as a tongue-in-cheek comment.
I think it was a mistype
