Villagers & Heroes has big plans for loot and crafting in its upcoming Starfall expansion

Loot is getting a pretty big overhaul in Villagers & Heroes when the Starfall 4.0 expansion goes live, with a color-based rarity system, improvements to crafting, and the addition of interchangeable runes, random armaments, and class-specific item slots.

“Loot will now have a Power Rating, showing how powerful a piece of armor or weapon can be,” Mad Otter explains. “This simple number lets you know instantly how much better or worst new loot you find is compared to what you currently use. One factor for this power rating are new item stats. Equipment you find and craft will have special properties. It could raise your health, lower your cooldown, or give a chance for massive damage. These stat boosts are in tiers of Common, Uncommon, and Rare, and each with their own edge in combat.”

The expansion is still slated for all platforms “later this year.” Crafting is just one of the systems getting an overhaul; the studio is also working on new talent trees, feats, zones, and a level cap bump.

This expansion is supposed to revamp the whole game. Its been in the works forever too. Maybe they should have waited to release info on this as players are getting mad that its not even close to release yet.

Just downloaded this the other day. Levels 9 with about 4hrs played. Installed the mobile version first. Works great on a plugged-in Galaxy 4G at medium-high settings. UI controls take some getting use to but are solid. Installed the PC client to play as well and it shows. Graphics, controls, UI make it shine and it’s much easier to grasp the game’s mechanics on PC. Server US2-Steam is very active. US1, not so much but at least mobile and PC play together on the same servers. The cash shop is too expensive for a mobile MMORPG at this depth. $10-$20 for a mount on mobile? To each their own. Overall a great mid-depth role player with a regular, friendly player base and more to do than just hack and slash. I mean a lot more. Realm is unexpectedly large. Download the client off of game’s website. It makes the mobile much easier and appreciated. Most mobile gaming sites give the review 4/5 – 8/10 etc. I’d have to agree. My friend and I checking it out day 1.

I feel Starfall maybe wasn’t the best name for an expansion! Just ask the folks behind Rift. lol. ?
