DO YOU NOT LOVE US?!
While it’s no BlizzCon, Gamescom has become an increasingly important platform for Blizzard to share exciting news about its roster of games. And we’re guessing that since you’re sitting at home instead of strutting about in Germany, you aren’t going to be getting this information first-hand.

No matter; the studio put up a helpful 20-minute preview of its Gamescom news and offerings. This includes a look a Kel’Thuzad coming to Heroes of the Storm, excitement over Patch 7.3 in World of Warcraft, hype over the Junkertown map in Overwatch, and a new head-to-head mode for Hearthstone called Fireside Brawl.

It doesn’t look like there will be any show-stopping surprises, but it’s still good to see Blizzard out in full force for this show. Check it out after the break!

Blizzard taking some great moves. I’ve been playing and following Blizzard since 2006 and loving every game. Recently, I’m too much in Overwatch and read an article that they have some big plans for its next competitive season (Season 6). Way to excited. :)

I know that for Blizz coming second is a novelty and having a failed product is a shame but dude, the treatment that Diablo is recieving is staggering to behold…

Maybe I missed something. What specifically are you talking about? Blizz coming in second? Failed product? Didn’t Diable just receive a big update recently? I guess I just don’t understand the reference points for your comments.

Blizz coming in second? Failed product?

yup, compared to PoE, a game based on no existing IP from a startup company on a shoestring budget is gathering all the attention and popularity while Diablo, once one of the greatest franchises in gaming lingers on the verge of irrelevance

Oh you’re only speaking about Diablo. Well Diablo is an aging franchise. At this point I think it is fair to say that we are seeing the start of its sunset. It seems clear to me that Blizzard is more concerned with their newer and more current projects. Its hard to argue with their current strategy when looking at their financials. I do understand that it is hard as a gamer to see a favourite franchise reach the end of its lifespan though. But realistically, I think that’s what were seeing here.

I’m afraid to go look at the Diablo 3 forum. Not even by the bathrooms. Sigh.

I’d rather them not become Square Enix and stick to making new games.

This isn’t really relevant, but I wanted to share it. A friend of mine who works for EA is at Gamescom and said Angela Merkel was at the Ubisoft booth. I’m trying to imagine any POTUS showing up at a PAX or E3 event, and I just can’t.

No I couldn’t but then again I don’t want the orange one to even know my hobby exists so I count that as a win :p

He’d probably want to take personal credit for all the good games, anyway. :-D

“I’m trying to imagine any POTUS showing up at a PAX or E3 event, and I just can’t.” I can. Likely a Democrat in 2020s. We’d be getting into potential Gen X or Y POTUS.
