Little did most Sea of Thieves Xbox One testers know, but there were turncoats in their midst. With the revelation this week that Rare is going to facilitate crossplay between console and PC players came the additional news that the studio had been sneakily slipping in computer players from the office into the Xbox test to see how it worked.

“The opportunity we have for Sea of Thieves on both platforms to bring all those players together is huge,” the team said in this week’s Inn-Side Story video diary. The members went on to expound that the game was meant for a “broad range of players” and is equally suited to both platforms, and so it made sense to bring the community together to enjoy it.
