The Stream Team: Getting a look at Guardians of Ember’s launch

Good-bye Early Access! It’s a glorious day when a game can say that, and today Guardians of Ember gets to join the ranks of launched titles. Of course, Massively OP’s MJ wants to jump in and check things out. Since the game touts “fighting to the death” she doesn’t think she’ll come out of this journey unscathed. The Death Counter is sure to feed tonight! Join us live at 7:00 p.m. for a launch look at…

What: Guardians of Ember
Who: MJ Guthrie
When: 7:00 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, September 20th, 2017

I’ve been playing for a few hours, and I have to say I enjoy the simple gameplay, as well as the pace. dual class system, and any class can use any weapon/armor, so there’s a lot of build options.

This game released far too early. When I originally bought into the early access, I thought that the game was interesting, but that the animation and much of the UI must be placeholders. Alas, I tried the game out after release finding that nothing had changed. It still has some unique and solid mechanics under its ugly exterior and I probably will give it a positive review once Insel adds a toggle for click-to-move. The game’s community has been asking for that since it entered early access.

Is the combat kiting intensive, like Grim Dawn?
