One Shots: Mummies making tracks

Let me tell you, I’m not playing RIFT right now but still I am so very tempted to log on and purchase that squirrel mummy mount. It may be one of that game’s best mounts yet, and that is saying something.

“One thing I love about RIFT is that the Ascended never take fall damage, no matter how far the fall might be,” reader Jake said. “While exploring the Gedlo Badlands, I needed to return to the kobold base camp and the quickest way to do so was to cliff dive from my current location. My descent was cut short when I unexpectedly landed on a rope strung across their camp. My mummified squirrel mount looked exactly like its real world counterpart would running along electrical wires.”

Tyler takes us back to Kingsmouth: “Inspired by the Halloween season, I’ve been playing The Secret World again. Not Legends — the original. For a variety of reasons including but not limited to the fact it wouldn’t stop crashing the last time I tried, I have not chosen to make the jump to Legends. It’s a bit surreal playing this slowly dying ghost town of a game, but it’s still the best MMO — probably the best game period — that I’ve played, so I’m going down with the ship.

“I’ve been playing one of my low-level alts. I always liked her face. It has character. Of course, it’s a face you can’t replicate in Legends’ stripped down creator… Sigh.”

“I finished my legendary armor on my Charr Guardian along with my newest legendary weapon Rodgort in Guild Wars 2,” said Kirk. “It took a lot of time, effort and patience and I couldn’t of done it without the help of my awesome raid static but when it was all done and over with it is probably my favorite collection/journey I’ve had in any MMO.”

Congrats, man! This picture should sport an ’80s hair metal album!

“My brief moment of childlike wonder (the result of sharing an enchanted seesaw ride with another World of Warcraft player) is spoiled when Innkeeper Farley demands to see an ID,” commented Hirku.

I heard that if you look under level 35, they’re required by law to card you.

Borghive shared his house in Elder Scrolls Online, and while it’s not the most cushy-comfy place that I’ve ever seen, it does have a rustic hunting lodge charm about it. Heating bill has to be through the roof, though.

Taverns and inns, which is your favorite? For this week’s screenshot challenge, head over to your favorite virtual pub and take a few interesting shots, then share why this place means so much to you!

Every week, One Shots shines a spotlight on the best community screenshots from your MMO adventures. If you have a great pic to share, email it to justin@massivelyop.com with the subject “One Shots.” Make sure that the picture is over 880px wide and comes with a description or story!
