Welcome back to another fast look at what the survivalboxes are up to! We’ve got tidbits from ARK, CSGO, Astroneer, and Osiris: New Dawn.

First up: CSGO might be getting a survival mode. Dataminers have uncovered a bunch of files, some dating back years, that suggest a number of features and combat styles that aren’t in the game, including parachutes, and island map, and “survival” references. (via VG247)

Astroneer’s research update is going live today for both Steam users and Xboxers, driving the sci-fi game into alpha.

“The Research Update is an entirely new way to play Astroneer. As part of our Alpha launch, we wanted to lay a solid foundation by updating our core game loop. Now, using the new Catalog and Research Chamber, players can use Bytes to unlock the blueprints they want. This update also includes our first module that uses streaming power, as well as changes to resource colors and some under the hood performance changes while we continue our ongoing effort to improve game stability. Also, as mentioned earlier, we are moving into the Alpha phase of development, which means that going forward, we will be adding content and changes to the game with every update until we reach Beta.”

Osiris: New Dawn recently released a teaser video for a new planet, Zer. It’s basically Mustafar. Stay out of the lava and keep an eye out for the fiery dragon things.

And finally, with the launch of the Aberration expansion last week, ARK Survival Evolved is kicking off a contest. “We’re awarding $2000 to the first person who provides video proof of them defeating the Alpha Aberration Endboss on an Official Aberration server!” declares Studio Wildcard. “Remember to include proof that this has taken place on an Official Server, you can do so by showing us the main menu which will indicate the server you’re on!” There’s also a teaser for the Dino TLC update currently under construction – it’ll herald updated t-rexes, apes, and dire wolves. Ragnarok is also nearly “100% complete internally” and expected to launch this week.

Thanks, Tanek and Kinya!
