Welcome to another episode of Ridiculously Large Numbers! Today on RLN, we invite back frequent guest PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, who has an announcement to make: It recently passed three million concurrent players on Steam and 30 million players total. Somewhere in the distance, you can hear so many studios weeping in jealousy.

The battle royale shooter isn’t planning to slow down in the new year, either. Following the game’s launch last month, the developers said that polish and bug fixes are a priority in the efforts to stabalize the notoriously problematic game.

Brendan Greene admitted that there’s still a lot of work to be done on PUBG: “It does have problems. There are crashes still. There’s some rubberbanding. But these are problems we’re working to fix. It’s a marathon for us.”

Other 2018 features in the works include ranked play, character leveling, more cosmetic items, better gameplay balance, and new maps.
