World of Warcraft’s allied races are an account-wide unlock — and here’s how you can get them

I suppose this is a problem I'm happy to complain about.

With Battle for Azeroth a ways down the road for antsy World of Warcraft fans, a lot of attention from the community has settled on one of the expansion’s key features that could be rolling out this month. Allied races — at least the first batch of them — look to be coming to the game in Patch 7.3.5, and now we’ve learned that you won’t have to grind them over and over again.

Wowhead’s staff confirmed that once unlocked on one server, those allied races would become available to play account-wide, meaning that players won’t have to jump through the requirement hoops on each shard.

The popular WoW site also has a guide up about all of the requirements to unlock the Nightborne, Highmountain Tauren, Void Elf, and Lightforged Draenei races. This means that you can get a start on the requirements right now and be in a good position to check out the new races when they debut (probably) later this month.

Ugh Argussian Reach…

Recently gave WoW another try after ten years away . There seems to be very few mobs that can do any damage to me . I tried going to higher levels to quest but it seems now you can’t even do that if you want some more exciting gameplay .

I’ve found myself reduced to doing warfronts to level which I still find enjoy and searching for herbs and minerals to sell . The rest of it is incredibly dull while leveling .

Is there any challenge in this game anymore apart from pvp ? At this rate I don’t think I am going to stay with it more than a month . It’s been streamlined to the point where it just seems boring .

Once you reach current content things become a little more challenging. Just a little. Once you start raiding is where any non-pvp challenge comes in.

The leveling process is really streamlined, and only there for the lore at this point.

One of the things currently in testing on the ptr is level scaling. Mobs will scale with your level and hit a bit harder and have a bit more health so they can’t just be one shorted over and over again. I am hoping this makes leveling a bit more interesting.

Silly question: Will the reputation requirements be for these be account wide?

If you have Alliance main with exalted reputation with all 4 factions, you can create Nightelf alt or Highmountain … but, to make these alts you should have level 110 (100?) character in the same server, i’m not sure about this.

Is this what you are asking about? :-)

It’s kinds reversed actually…since I focused on my Goblin characters more then my Gnomes. So the closest to getting Exalted with both AoL and AR are my Goblins. However, I am not sure that rep prerequisite once met will give me credit to my Gnomes account wise when they try to unlock their side’s respective subraces.

If you did it with the goblin and unlocked 4 races, you can make alts for the 4 races, no need to work on your gnome to get them again, i’m sure about that .. you only need 1 character to get exalted with the 4 races.

A toon at 110 on the appropriate faction -might- be necessary to take the unlock quest, or at least this is what datamining suggested so far.

That aside, all of these hoops will be veeeery unexpectedly and conveniently removed at launch, so reps only matter if you really want to start levelling your new hero in the lull between now and then.

Well, my current “hero” I am levelling is in Blade & Soul now.

…I just wanted to know if I need to go back and focus on my Gnomes again. You say, “Maybe yes.” The person below you says, “Maybe not”. :(

Does anyone know who I’m grinding for a Dark Iron dwarf?

I wish the Army of Light and Argussian Reach reputations were on the Kirin Tor boost, like the rest. There are no hard reputations, only time consuming ones, but it’s surprising that the ones that show up last don’t have a catch-up mechanism yet. Maybe before the end of the expansion.

Well, makes sense.

Acceptable.

Void Elf requirements suck the worst.

Argussian Reach is the slowest rep to earn right now

Highmountain and Nightfallen rep are probably already exalted for many people, and Army of the Light is the faster of the 2 argus reps, leaving Void Elf the most grind to unlock.
