Just Survive wipes and starts over for the sake of ‘fair play’

Yes. There is indeed a yeti with a sniper rifle in the header. Let us all pretend that he doesn’t exist and he might not target us for destruction. His attention is no doubt preoccupied by Just Survive’s January 16th update, which begins with a full wipe and hopefully goes uphill from there.

Don’t get your hopes up too much for a major content patch, however, because this update is mostly about “bugs and fair play.” Probably the elimination of the former and the support of the latter. Daybreak announced that it has made significant improvements to the game’s anti-cheat system and fixed a dupe exploit.

“While we were initially hoping to push this update out without requiring a wipe, escalating abuse of the exploits fixed within indicated that it would be best for our players to wipe out the unfair advantage that these abusers had gained through cheating,” said Daybreak.

A content update is on the way “several weeks” from now with a new tier of construction, raid re-balancing, and the upgrade system.

I have this sitting in my library and have thought about trying it again many times, but Daybreak is such a scam of a company that I can’t bring myself to load it up. This company really makes you hate the idea of Beta testing and Early Access. EA and the Star Wars Battefront series still takes the cake , but good on you Daybreak for giving them a good fight.

modern DNA testing from hair and tissue samples given have proven the Yeti is actually a hybrid polar bear / brown bear. They look a little funny and are quite rare, since the territories of those animals seldom overlap, but they do sometimes happen. I could see locals thinking “ah that’s not like any bear I’ve ever seen” and their imaginations filling in the rest. Also explains why Yeti tracks look remarkably like bear tracks that have expanded as they thawed in the sunlight a bit.

What a bummer. imagining a white-furred ape monster of the Himalayas is much more exciting.

The good news is that more hybrids may occur, and the “Yeti”, per se, may live on.

So did they sort of take everyone’s money for one thing and make another? I guess at least they did split it in half part way through so you knew where your money was going after that…

I like crowdfunded games less and less every day.

TotalCowage .

They should do what Shroud of the Avatar does; refuse to wipe no matter how badly the economy has been exploited, because you’ve allowed real money trades between players, and resetting the server would mean voiding all those trades as well…

Can you tell I’ll never crowd fund a game again either?

is this game not fully launched?

Neither half is, and I don’t believe we have any roadmaps for the launch of either.

Daybreak seems to enjoy perpetual paid beta testing.

not like landmark didn’t prove that their concept of launch isn’t completely arbitrary (if not also ps2’s before it)
