I played WildStar on and off for a couple of months after it went F2P, liked the visual style and loved the worldbuilding and enjoyed the combat. But the wider gameplay just didn’t really grab me, and so I lost interest about halfway through levelling. I’m still not sure precisely why it didn’t click for me, but part of it was that other than the cosmetic and narrative aspects (and the housing system, which didn’t really interest me) nothing about it felt particularly new or distinctive – I was hoping for a lot more from the Path system, which felt like it could’ve had a lot of potential if it was properly developed.

Sub Daddy. Or Subber Daddy.

Great discussion on Wildstar!

Really sad that people won’t give it another shot.

I am bewildered that anyone would say “Hey Turbine, what I really want is a sub based server where all my progress disappears after a few months. And then I will…….transfer that character back to a mode I was not interested in previously?” -I have no idea what would even come next.

I haven’t listened to the episode yet, but I think you mean Trion. Turbine gave up on MMOs altogether, which makes that sentence all the more funny.

Pfft – you are 100% correct. AC deathcall anniversary has them on the front of my mind and the top of my pooplist.

So agree with this. I would definitely go back, but not to have my progression eventually moved to a server archtype/mode that I left on purpose some time ago.
