Nope, I consider them a nice little something for a game I’m already playing, but I won’t log in just to get one. The game either stands on its own or it doesn’t. And if it doesn’t, I’m outta there.

I do have guildies, though, who will make multiple F2P accounts and log into them every day to get the rewards, even if they’re not actively playing those accounts, so I guess it works to some degree for some people. For some definition of “works”: It still doesn’t seem to me to benefit the game or the publisher in any way in that case.

Eventually it begins to feel like work, especially if you do it for more than one MMO for any period of time. ‘Login, wait for patch, open box, logout, login, wait for patch, roll dice, logout, login, wait for patch, spin wheel, logout…’. That ain’t fun no matter what I get from the box/dice/wheel/etc…

Some kinds work on me. If we get to buy IAP currency for a much cheaper price but we have to log on each day to collect it for instance. Or if we buy draws for lockboxes far cheaper but have to log on every day to get them.

They get me to log on that is, but not to keep playing afterward if I don’t feel like playing at the moment. I log on, collect my gift, and log right back out. They do keep my connection to the game though rather than having me forget about it and move on.

Normal dailies don’t usually get me as much unless I’m into playing the game at the time anyway. Cheaper IAP and lock box draws definitely do get me however.

I was logging in Fortnite each and every day while my Founder Pack still had Lock Boxes to pick up (and I usually did stay to play a few maps too each time). Now I’m down to just the normal daily gifts which aren’t that important or enticing to me so I don’t make it on every day.

Nope. Sure they are nice when I’m already playing the game, but I sure as heck ain’t gonna sub for it. And besides, most of the time it’s useless junk that sits in my bank, is long forgotten about, and takes up space. And then it gets deleted.

If developers think it’s a good idea to make me feel bad about not playing, or that I’ve missed out on something actually valuable (looking at you Black Desert Online), or making me feel like I HAVE to log in, they are wrong.

I tend to look at them and go “Eh, those would be okay to have, but… does the game actually appeal to me?” And the moment it doesn’t, they don’t matter.

They actually have the opposite effect on me. I’m the type that doesn’t respond well to skinner boxes. The more blatant and obvious the more I hate them. Warframe included. Don’t get me wrong, I like Warframe, but that login reward system piss me off so much.

Login rewards, in-game events and even dailies in general don’t work on me anymore. Watching one member of my guild stay behind in Archeage after we moved on, doing virtual chores every day working herself to the bone just to pay her virtual rent really woke us up. She really bit onto the F2P illusion. (She got better. Became a doctor and doesn’t play mmos anymore.)

I know it sounds like common sense but I won’t be doing any activities I don’t want to anymore. Regardless of what the reward is, if I don’t feel like playing, I’m not logging in. If the event isn’t fun, I’m not doing it. Not even for that cool cosmetic weapon. I’ll buy it a little overpriced when someone sells it later.

No, they don’t work for me. They become a chore after awhile. IMO either a game is fun to play and worth logging into or it’s not.

Rather grew on me. There is even a game – SWL – I visit at the moment just to get a daily reward. Most of the time I do not care, though.

Also I remember BDO putting piece of Boss armor as one of the daily rewards. That was a race, heh. They should have never done that. Although it was the only piece I got. :D

Depends what they are, I like having them there its a nice thank you for logging in, but are they are reason in and of themselves alone that I would log in?? Not unless they are something pretty special no.

I’m more of a fan of Veteran rewards.
