Multiplayer shooter Ironsight goes into open beta

Lock and load, Ironsight is ready to go. Aeria Games’ military multiplayer shooter went into open beta testing on Thursday, allowing just about everyone the chance to duke it out in the near future.

The beta build is an improvement on the previous phases, as it contains four new maps, two additional game modes, and a new mission. Players can also claw over each other’s corpses to attain the best standing in the ranking system, which also went live with this patch.

We will be investigating this shooter and conducting an experiment to see just how many times and in how many ways MJ can get herself killed. Tune in to MOP TV this Saturday at noon!

I am…moderately interested in this. I may go on ahead and d/l it…but questionable whether I’ll actually have a go, as FF XIV has the “Valentione’s Day” bit going on. Perhaps more importantly, the completely remastered FF XII (my favorite) launched yesterday for PC, so I might start that lovely JRPG grind-fest instead, as I’ve not played it in over a decade on the venerable PS2. God, I’m getting old!

Quite the bland little game…. The only good shooter was ZMR and that was closed cause of contract expiration ….

I can’t say that this game doesn’t look like other games. However, it’s new, so that’s something not all the other similar games can say.

It’s a new one of these.

I’ll take a break from figuring out whether or not I like Hyper Universe to try it.

Question: why do you guys keep referring to Aeria?

Aeria ia gone.

Gamigo bought them out and digested them … Even the trailer for that just says “Gamigo” at the end.

Kind of a minor thing to complain about, but it is also sort of confusing.

Makes me go “why are they putting emphasis on Aeria when Aeria was bought out? Am I missing something … Like did Aeria actually develope this game in house before the buy out?”

The answer is “No they did not” … I was confused enough that I had to go google it and check if it was: the developer is a Korean company called “WIPLE” and “Iron Sight” is their first game.

(Uhm: in the game’s website, it is listed as two words “Iron Sight” … Not sure if that is all that significant or not.)

I can say for this, when the game’s official PR to you emphasizes it is coming from Aeria, you acknowledge it as well. Same with how the company sends the game’s name to you, you use that name.

But then it isn’t on the trailer at all and says Gamigo at the end … Does Aeria exiest, or not?

It is like Schrodinger’s cat of video game publishers.

Dunno, but per my links it very much does and they’re hosting the site for it.

But then again this kind of “quality” and “consistency” is pretty much par for the course for Aeria/Gamigo from my experience with those two : P

Aeria Games exists as a subsidiary of Gamigo AG, as far as I understand the arrangement.
