Players throw a party for this week’s Shroud of the Avatar update

Any excuse for a large-scale shindig is a good one by us. For the players over at Shroud of the Avatar, the title’s consistent monthly updates haven’t lost their luster or crowd appeal.

This is why Avatar Radio, the player-run internet radio station for the game, is throwing a dance party for this week’s Release 51. The party is taking place on February 23rd on the Isle of Chaos.

“Come help the Devs test the limits of the newest update, the last of it’s kind before
the Queen of Chaos sets Sail off into full launch,” the party organizers said. “While partying on the Queen of Chaos we will have our ears tantalised by the best beats this side of the Rift by the one and only Lord of Chaos, Darkstarr himself.”

Does the party include a refund for this PoS?

Thanks for the info about Avatar Radio. Added that to my playlist and will check it out. We’ll see how it compares to Eve Radio. I love it when game fans start radio stations.

Darkstarr is a fantastic DJ. And with the huge jump in FPS I’m seeing on the QA server when playing on Fantastic, it should be an awesome party!

How much has the framerate improved from your point of view?

I play on Fantastic even if it’s painful, with all effects turned on. I like it to look Fantastic in most scenes even though it hurts me in a few.

Well on the Dev server, certain really painful Player Owned Towns went from 6 FPS (ouch, that was the worst) to 20-30fps.

Everywhere else I went that was around 30fps was up to 60fps last night when I was testing again.

So if you’re playing on fantastic with a great setup, you’re probably going to see a huge increase.

How much of an improvement you see will depend largely on the scene and GPU but most should see some significant improvements. I’m working on one more big optimization for a few of the worst maps right now and hope to have it in the patch in time for the party. The biggest boost to performance is yet to come though thanks to POT and City specific work in R52 and hopefully IL2CPP optimizations soon after launch.
