And we have liftoff! SOTA has now officially launched and is a live game. That means nothing is holding Massively OP’s MJ back from diving into the game and its story. She’s still undecided about making a new character, but she does want to start the story over either way, so she might just reset for now. Either way, many new adventures lie ahead. Tune in live at 8:00 p.m. for the official launch-day edition of…

What: Shroud of the Avatar
Who: MJ Guthrie
When: 8:00 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, March 27th, 2018

The show is over now, but we’ve embedded it here just for you. Don’t forget to check out past streams and playlists posted to our videos collection!

Tried the free trial. To me, it was kind of like if Everquest and Ultima had a baby.

Apart from its clunky combat it seemed an OK game but its not something I would pay 30 pounds for and the RMT put me off a bit . Maybe I will give it a try when its on sale sometime .

So big launch….500 people on!

There were 600 at the last launch.

I hit a bug where I couldn’t even speak to NPC’s. They fixed that.

They didn’t update the sounds at all like I thought they would.

I can’t muster the effort to keep playing.

How many is that exactly?

Why would you not play through steam, when patching takes way longer outside of it?

Do you think new players coming to the game are just wondering onto the website and buying it there….or…seeing it in steam and buying it?

I know if I have the choice for me I go through steam most times. Interesting thing to think about.

I was impressed when I booted up the game and was told I was Number One in the login queue :)!

After half a dozen fights which each dropped exactly the same loot it turned instantly into night and was so dark even with the light spell/torch that I hadn’t a clue where I was going or what I was doing and so logged out again. Steam credits me with 9 hours played since I first started but I doubt I’ve ever spent more than about 20 minutes at a time in the game, the frequent night, combat, and dated inventory management etc all take their toll very quickly.
