EVE Online is losing another developer – this time, it’s CCP Punkturis

Another prominent member of the EVE Online team is apparently departing. Senior Software Engineer Katrín Atladóttir, aka CCP Punkturis, announced on Twitter last night that April 30th is to be her last day at the company.

“For the past (almost) 9 years you guys have taught me so much and words can’t describe how thankful I am for everything,” she writes. “It’s been an honour and privilege to be a part of this amazing community.”

A 2013 developer profile of Punkturis jokingly calls her “the biggest troll in the company” thanks to her obsession with pink starships. CCP says she wasn’t an EVE Online player or much of a gamer at all before she was hired in 2009 as a User Interface Programmer, but it’s pretty obvious she was well-loved by the playerbase.

The departure stings that much more given that Executive Producer Andie “CCP Seagull” Nordgren announced she’ll be leaving the company at the end of June.
