Bless Online details its massive taming system and 660 tame-able critters

One of the three core content pieces in Bless Online is its taming system, though it was only lightly on display for press during our most recent hands-on. Neowiz has a new video out this morning featuring the system ahead of its early access beta launch later this month. And yes, you can tame monsters.

“Almost all of the existing monsters in Bless can be turned into either mounts or pets – when Early Access begins you will find 660 unique creatures available for taming. Each region in Bless has its own type of creatures. Depending on the type of environment, you can meet monsters of all sorts: some are cute and friendly, while others are wild and fierce or even ridiculous! If you happen to stumble upon an elite monster as you journey around the Bless world, try to tame it! Although it may be difficult, if you are successful in taming it you will gain a special companion.”

The brand-new taming video is below.

This is hands down my favorite part of Bless Online. The fact that almost all the creatures in the game can be your companion is so awesome. Check out the guide I made of you’d like some more info on the system: https://youtu.be/OuL-W20pvew

And apparently their crowning feature of taming mobs doesn’t even allow you to name them or have them fight alongside you? That is what I’ve been told, correct me if I’m wrong.

I’ve read that they won’t be fighting pets but can provide a passive buff.

I’ll be trying it out. B2p games are minimal investment. I like collecting so this will be interesting.

BS. You can only tame 66% of mobs. All minions are not tamable right now.

Bless has 1k mobs on average. They fit into three classes, mounts, you ride, pets, give buffs, and minions whom you send on quest.

Most minions are humanoids in one form or another. Troll, orc goblin, harpy and such. And none are tamable so 600/1000 are tamable right now.

What are you calling BS on?

Probably because they say “almost all” but 66% might be a little shy of that description

But it literally says 660 in the same sentence…

Yeah but the assertion is 660/1000 (66%) is not almost all.. it is a majority. Just talking about the meaning of words. I think 660 is awesome amount and sounds good enough to me.

I’ve never heard of minions in Bless that you send on quests and I’ve never seen that icon in game. Tameable mobs have either a pet icon or a mount icon. Not sure if that’s a KR Bless thing, but it’s not a JP Bless thing and AFAIK we’re not getting any sort of minion thing here, either.

I’m sure pvp will be nerfed into irrelevance like it was in black desert following the pvp whale push at launch.

Ok I have no real interest in this game but does this company have no clue how to advertise? That was a really short video it may have shown taming but if it did all the text was in Korean. So I don’t know if taming looks cool and they are supposed to be converting this game for the West but aren’t able to show it with English text yet and it launches in early access in less than 2 weeks….. man they seem to be truly confused and any interest I did have in the title is draining away with every sad attempt at hype they make.

NeoWiz doesn’t have a marketing department. This was discussed extensively during the play test invite the West media attended and it’s something that they depended on to self-hype. Watch any of the streamer play throughs or read the articles and it’s obvious that they left people to figure it out for themselves.

To me, it hurt them more than it helped them because no one knew what the heck they were suppose to do in game and those watching quickly got bored as streamers fiddled around with settings, skill trees and functionality.

I kept hearing “How do I do this or that?” “Where are the mobs? There are no mobs to kill.”

Admittedly this is the most exciting feature for Bless. But sadly its not enough for me to want to jump into another open-world PvP game at this time. But if I ever did want to try it out, this would be the reason why!

I am looking forward to this game against my better judgement. I am kinda hoping for an AION/AA hybrid of some sort.

Looks like another BDO with that value pack errr i mean bless premium.

Most games have one of those. Not sure why this one is any different to you?

More Aion than AA really.
