Blizzard roundup: World of Warcraft lore, Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm balance, and Overwatch LEGO sets

I'm sorry, Jaina.

Who’s ready for some news about Blizzard? Because boy, there’s a lot of it! Want some new World of Warcraft lore about Jaina? There’s a new comic out to explain why she is the way she is (this expansion, anyhow, because how the writers want her to act changes with the weather). Those of you who would like a more magic-happy version of Jaina, though, should just hop on over to Hearthstone… after checking out the newest balance changes incoming to the game.

Meanwhile, Heroes of the Storm has a new patch out which brings with it a brand-new event, Nexomania! (It’s a luchadore reference, for those unclear.) And Overwatch is going further in the toy field than we even considered, with upcoming LEGO sets featuring minifigures of several well-known characters. So you can play with them all the time!

Oh, and Diablo III is about ready to end its thirteenth season. Yes, that’s the Diablo life these days.

Well, they really butcher Jaina, so, i guess we’ll see something interesting in BfA.

She’s pretty much Garrosh 2.0.

Heroes of the Storm confirmed to have a more consistent lore than WoW.

Wonder how many people really want to see Tracer’s rear end pose in lego minifigure form.

If my kids play with my Overwatch LEGO toys do I have to pretend I’m okay with it?

I’m not a fan of who Jaina has become and this isn’t making me too fond of the Kul Tirans either. The writing for a number of WoW characters is more shallow and forced than others, often to further Blizzard’s ham-fisted ideas of continuing the war between the Alliance and Horde. It’s nothing new at this point, so I mostly just sigh and move on hoping they won’t touch other characters I care about in the same way.

At least I’ve still got characters like Velen and Anduin. Yeah, people like to dump on how boring Anduin is, but I like characters who are righteous and empathetic even when faced with such racist struggles.

Sorry, but it looks a lot like Anduin is being written as SELF-righteous and racist for this expansion; it would seem the Azurite/OldGods have bad effects on people.

I’m avoiding reading up on the playable expansion lore, hoping to experience the story on live.

I like how Anduin has been sincerely empathetic to all races and not a holier-than-thou Alliance leader. And ugh, if true, that’s a shame. Reminds me of the whole Pandaria sha stuff a bit with the corrupting effect.

I think it’s something to do with hawkish Greymane having Anduin’s ear. Just think of it as what if Gandhi had Trump bellowing beside him all the time. :(

At least, Greymane makes sense. He’s a old wolf, he got shafted by the Forsaken and now he has to watch Sylvanas control it.

Actually, he and Anduin have a conversation about this exactly same thing. Greymane says that thanks to Anduin, he can understand that not all the Horde is problematic, and that Varian wasn’t wrong in trying to tie them close.

Anduin then proceeds to say that he also learned with Greymane and Varian that sometimes, there’s no hope for some, and that Sylvanas is beyond salvation at this point, which is something that i believe we all as players and readers/watchers of the lore, can agree on.

Now, Jaina, on the other hand? There is NO REASON for Jaina to doubt for any second that Thrall actually had a friendship with her, a strong one. SHE was there when Daelin was killed. He was treating her like a child the entire time. She tried tooth and nail to convince him to just go in peace and leave Durotar to the Horde. Thrall actually tried to talk to him too.

Blizzard is again shredding their already solid characters for pointless drama. Jaina wasn’t that connected to Kul Tiras. She shouldn’t ever be. She was the most level headed character in the game, she wouldn’t blame the ENTIRE HORDE for what happened at Theramore.

Not only that, Thrall disclosed info with her in how the Horde was in a fragile state at the time. She KNEW his rule would be challenged by Garrosh anytime soon, yet she never conceded that Garrosh wasn’t going to be a diplomat. Not only her entire twist of character seemed out of place, she’s getting out as the most incompetent leader of the Alliance. Throwing tantrums, and challenging the way Anduin wants to make peace isn’t helping either. Specially since she, Tyrande and Malfurion were guests at Thrall’s wedding.

This is getting worse than the soap operas that plague Brazil, and that’s a really bad trophy to achieve.
