TennoCon 2018: Warframe is coming to Nintendo Switch, some cross-platform a possibility

But better.
Do you love surprises? Digital Extremes is banking on your liking this one: Warframe is coming to Switch. In a fake-out move tonight at TennoCon 2018, one dev hopped off stage while playing a handheld game, but it became apparent what was going on only when he started showing the front row his screen. When those players exploded in cheers, the main camera zoomed in to show the rest of us the real-time Warframe gameplay happening. And then the whole crowd joined in the celebration!

While there is no date on a launch, partner Panic Button – which also created DOOM, Wolfenstein: The New Colossus, and Rocket League – is already deep into development. You can check out gameplay in the reveal trailer below.

Players on the PC may be interested to know that there is the possibility of logging into their accounts on the Switch. I asked Creative Director Steve Sinclair about the possibility of crossplay or one time transfer between platforms for those who want to play on the Switch. Sinclair told me that it won’t be possible for the PlayStation 4, but it could possibly be worked out for the XBox, and it would be a breeze for the PC. He continued by saying that he was very interested in looking into making it so players could seamlessly move between play on the PC and the Switch. That could mean easily taking your Warframe on the go, be it travel for work, leisure, or just because.

No matter what system you play on, including Switch, Warframe will remain free. Would you play on the Switch? Let us know!
