Fortnite adds new Score Royale limited-time mode and magic snowglobes

The next time you’re tempted to blurt out that a game is over because of its cartoony graphics, just don’t. Because Fortnite exists to make you look like a fool. That’s my only thought watching Fortnite’s latest trailer, this one featuring cartoon characters clutching a magic snowglobe that lets them teleport all over the map. People will buy this because of course they will. Also, the header image up top is an actual photo of Tim Sweeney, hugging all your money.

In addition to rolling out the aforementioned magic “Rift-to-Go” snowglobes to the cash shop, this week’s Fortnite update adds Score Royale, its latest limited-time mode, plus a new assault rifle, the Playground (again), and a hefty round of bug fixes. How’s the new LTM work?

“Earn points by collecting coins, opening loot containers and eliminating other players. The first to cross the High Score threshold wins the Victory Royale! Early game Storm circles are larger and the Storms move in more slowly, giving players more time to spread out and search for loot. Late game Storms move in fast! Earn enough points for the Victory Royale before they close in.”

The Rift-To-Go is the new item dropping into Fortnite Battle Royale. It's your ace in the hole, creating a Rift for yourself and allies. Escape danger or dive into it!
