Star Citizen highlights moonscapes and player housing, plus its monthly studio report

You know one of my favorite things about Firefly? The bunkrooms. Like seriously, I want a hammock and a pull out toilet/sink. That set designer deserved a medal for making a cold, dirty, clunker of a spaceship look like home.

And that’s exactly the image conjured up in this week’s episode of Star Citizen’s Around the Verse; the first developer blurb of the episode covers player habs – player housing – and while it’s focused on lighting, the watcher is getting a great look at the gritty living quarters, complete with graffiti and torn posters. The episode also covers development of moons (all those gorgeous ice world stills are of a moon, in fact), cargo movement, and ship art.

Meanwhile, Cloud Imperium’s posted its monthly studio report, an offering that apparently pleased Reddit; it recaps ongoing work on character art and animation, voice chat, mission text and dialogue, object container streaming, alpha 3.3 vehicles, grouping mechanics, ship rentals, space landscaping, shaders, AI and level design.
