It’s honestly difficult to imagine a world wherein Blizzard’s promise of multiple new Diablo projects includes an animated series, but that appears to be the case. Andy Cosby, the writer for an upcoming Hellboy animated series, confirmed in a tweet that he is in final talks for writing and show-running a new Netflix series based on the Diablo franchise.
He then deleted the tweet, which indicates that he wasn’t supposed to confirm that yet… but this is the internet, so of course that was screencapped and memorized.
Obviously, there are no further details at this time, seeing as it appears there were not even meant to be that many details yet. But it’s good news for anyone playing through the latest Diablo III season hoping for some forward motion in the franchise. Who knows? There might be more light to hope for another title altogether.

An animated series would give a bigger market presence. It is modern marketing for another upcoming project lol
As a Diablo fan, I can say I am supremely unwowed by the idea of a Diablo animated series. She shouts from her porch, “Where is my RPG?!”
As a game prognosticator, I’m guessing Blizz hopes to interest the next generation in the Diablo franchise. Hopefully, just as they let lose a whole bevy of Diablo games.
…done in the style of an early 80’s Funimation or Sunbow production, complete with character PSA at the end of each episode.
They did really well in my opinion with the Castlevania animated series, so I look forward to seeing this.
Just browse Rhyker’s Youtube channel and you’ll see he’s had extensive coverage of each job posting related to a new Diablo project, these positions are typical of a PC Game Development.
If this where my law school, I would note in the curriculum disclaimer that once the cat is out of the bag in Twitter’verse, there is real no point in putting back. Just saying. o.O
What you’re supposed to do is immediately add a bunch of really offensive tweets to make it look like your account has been hacked. Then you can effectively deny actually having posted anything during the period.
That would make it look like I am encouraging obstruction tactics in my future law students though. :(
Shut up and take my money!
