Albion Online’s next patch places a cooldown on shifting allegiances

You all play nice now, or something.

Guild vs. guild combat is important to the core of Albion Online, but it kind of falls apart if everyone is just grabbing everything worthwhile and then jumping ship at the drop of a hat. Thus, the latest update to the game going live on Wednesday will prevent you from joining another guild for 48 hours after joining one while also preventing guilds from changing their alliances within 48 hours. Leaving doesn’t incur a penalty, though, so there may be workarounds for those with chronic backstabbing disorder.

Players will also be able to purchase new Warhorse mounts to proudly display guild affiliations, so you can show off your pride to the world (and possibly make yourself a bigger target in the process, but let’s ignore that part). The patch also contains the usual balance tweaks and such; you can take a look at the full rundown of changes on the official site ahead of the Wednesday patch itself.
