MapleStory 2 formally launches this afternoon, lowers prices; here’s the launch trailer

MapleStory 2 officially rolls out of headstart and into formal launch today, although the servers are currently down until around 1 p.m. EDT for maintenance. We are expecting a launch-day update as well as preorder rewards, though patch notes haven’t been released yet; we do know it’ll raise the level cap, add the Runeblade class, and introduce the new Karkar Island zone. New servers are also on tap to launch today, and as we wrote yesterday, Nexon is working on cracking down on the gold farmers, spammers, and bots.

[AL:MS2]Last night, Nexon raised eyebrows by reducing the price of everything in its Style Coin shop by 30%. “I am very happy to share that, we are going to lower the price of all the items in the coin shop by 30%,” Nexon wrote. “Based on the new price, the most exclusive item we have in the coin shop ‘Pumpkin Witch Package’ which has five different outfit pieces, and with a full set providing special effects will be now priced at 76 coins. Because each item gives out 1 to 3 coins when you dismantle, and based on the rate we expect average of 1.65 coins per one Style Crate, meaning the most expensive package in coin shop will require approximately $125 USD. (Again, because of random %, this value can fluctuate).”
