Bless Online says its early access met a ‘mismatch of expectations’ between studio and playerbase

Bless Online, as we’ve previously written, is due to launch for realsies at the end of October, but to say that its early access open beta was not without flaws would be an understatement. Neowiz isn’t blind to the fuss or the falling numbers.

“The player response to Bless coming to Steam was initially very positive; players were thrilled to have Bless releasing for a global audience on one of the most accessible gaming platforms,” the studio’s Steam blog post this afternoon notes. “However, many players didn’t share the team’s view that Early Access was still a time for development and changes. Bless Online wasn’t a final, polished product as much of the community had believed it would be, leading to a mismatch of expectations for Early Access between the development team and the players.”

Consequently, Neowiz says, it’s working on not just the launch but the content coming after the launch, and though it doesn’t give specifics, we already know from the sunsetting Korean server what’s likely in store.

“The Bless team isn’t ready to talk about all of the details, but it has been well-noted what big content items players are interested in: adding classes such as the Mystic, new raids and dungeons, and new in-game goals to strive for.”

There’s a new community video out this afternoon as well.

Well, i expected a pile of turd, and i totally got what i expected. So, i’m quite satisfied with myself.

Anyway, nothing like funny PR to shift blame from the developers of this shitshow, to the players.

Who cares about the game. The drama, and in particular the bless online subreddit was far for fun to take part in.

The Bless Reddit was the best part of the game. I remember all the Bless Emissaries bashing LazyPeon for calling the game complete Dog Shit. With the dupes and broken economy it was like watching the best train wreck ever. I remember getting banned for 3 days because I gathered herbs in their game to sell to a vendor, then got slapped with a 30day for going to a NPC to reset my tradeskills to get the reward over and over. I ended up charging back my money and bought another key for $10 then steam account shared Bless to hop back on my original account. Still don’t feel bad to this day.

Yeah, the mismatch of expectations was that your paying customers expected some semblance of a decent game, or at least the beginnings of one, and instead were treated with a pile of steaming shit.

I paid $10 for this trainwreck, and it was still too much.

“the team’s view that Early Access was still a time for development and changes”

What a line of bullshit. Shut it down – no one cares.

Aside from all the other version being shut down, you can’t charge full price and have a cash shop and still try to call your launch a beta. These gaming companies just throw that word around as some form of protection. Sorry its been overused and the community just doesn’t care anymore. If its full priced, its launched. And if you want to get players to come back for a second look, you have to do what FFXIV did, which was shut down and relaunch.

…. so Neowiz what is your excuse for clising the game down in KR? Silence, you stated at steam launch you work on KR.

Your biggest issue is you can not make one universal game. Kr, ru, jp, steam, all vastly different and failures.

Most versions did not get mystic, a healer. NA stesm was boring as hell. And no I dont want a fifth version mobil. Or xbox.

So this was a game that has already been launch multiple times before. They were charging for the game and pretty sure the cash shop was open also. Sorry that isn’t early access that is a launch. They can try and hide behind the whole we were in development but all MMO’s are in development for their entire lives until they go maintenance mode. If your game has already launched once the early access stuff isn’t going to fly either.

The product they delivered on steam didn’t meet the expectations THEY SAID IT WOULD BE at the soft launch. They can fuck right off with their “mismatch” of expectations. They have 400 players left playing this game, let it go down as one of the worst MMO cash grabs in history and be done with it. Remember when they said cash shop currency would be account bound and ended up being character specific? YEA it was an “error” just like their “mismatch” of expectations. The only way they are going to maintain a viable business model is by making the game ultra P2W after 1,000s come back, but it will never happen. They can’t siphon enough revenue from 400 players left playing to keep their development team going. We’ll see if they can rename the studio and bilk more money out of xbox gamers with Bless Unleashed.

Yeah, you can fuck right off. You charged full price for it; you gotta own it.

Definitely do not buy this game while it still is buy 2 play.
Even after I do no recommend it.
After about 100 hours of playing I got banned. I’m 100% sure this is a false positive but you will get 0 support from bless. Good luck trying to resolve it. Byebye progress
