Just Survive will in fact survive beyond its planned October sunset

Last month, H1Z1 players got the sad (if not entirely surprising) news that Daybreak would be sunsetting the game’s Just Survive component on October 24th, but it appears that all hope is not yet lost: On a recent livestream, Jace Hall – who joined Daybreak as the PC lead for the battle royale half of game, now known as Z1 Battle Royale, shortly before the Just Survive sunset was announced – dropped the news that he is trying to find a way to incorporate Just Survive into the recent joint venture with NantWorks, which had initially only included the transfer of the game’s Battle Royale component.

Hall was careful with his announcement, however, and he stressed the fact that nothing is set in stone yet and that there’s no guarantee that Just Survive will… well, survive. Nevertheless, it would appear that regardless of how things play out, Just Survive has been saved from its October sunset.

“What that means is Just Survive will continue and our intention is to put it into a maintenance mode for a moment but then we want to work with the community over time and figure out the right way to re-integrate Just Survive as a mode inside of Z1. There’ll be a survival mode, you’ll see Just Survive.”

Beyond that, there’s no telling what the future holds for Just Survive; we’ll just have to wait and see.
