Well, someone's having fun!

The first week of MapleStory 2’s launch is officially drawing to a close, and Producer Jungsoo Lee has posted a new producer’s blog to update players on the state of the game. According to the post, the game had “a fantastic first week” and “was ranked the #6 title on Steam during North America peak hours, with an even larger community forming on Nexon Launcher.” Overall, the folks at Nexon seem pretty pleased with the game’s performance so far, but they’re not resting on their laurels, and players can expect some updates in the near future.

[AL:MS2]Some of the biggest changes will be coming to the game’s Style Crate system. The team says it has identified two major issues with Style Crates, which are that “set items in the Style Crate which aren’t in the shop require too much investment to complete” and that “selection in the Premium Shop is too limited, due to the fact that most items only exist in the Style Crate.”

In order to rectify the situation, the devs are adding “all outfits that Dismantle for one Style Coin” to the Premium Shop, and in addition, they’re adding “all outfit items that Dismantle for 3 Style Coins and Style Crate Weapon Boxes that Dismantle for 2 Style Coins” to the Style Coin shop. “The end result of these changes,” the post says, “will be that every item within the Style Crates can now be obtained without relying on the roll of the dice.” The Style Crate changes will be going live on October 18th.

Players who can’t wait to test their PvP skills have something to look forward to as well, as the team plans to update PvP gear and reactivate PvP “in early December.” Right now, there aren’t many other details to share, but players can look forward to more information “around the 3rd or 4th week of November.” To check out the full producer’s letter, you can click on over to the game’s official site.
