One Shots: Waifu dreams

Make no bones about it, MapleStory 2 is as anime as they come. Need proof beyond the huge eyes, overdone expressions, and ultra-saturated cuteness? How about the fact that you can grab a waifu body pillow and use it to zoom around the landscape. ‘Tis true.

“I got a new mount,” said reader Line. “Yes, it’s a body pillow with some bloke named Blake on it. And yes, I run faster than my car when I hold it. Why? Who knows.”

Blake knows. Oh yes he does. But he’s not telling.

Now that I’m recovering from putting a sexy body pillow as a headlining pic, how about something that’s equally small yet more down to Middle-earth?

Amorey is evaluating Lord of the Rings Online’s new Update 23: “Mordor is still dark and depressing but they tuned the area difficulty enough for me to do a bit of questing. I am trying my best, but it is very slow and sometime frustrating. However I managed to get almost to level 112! The new Hobbit avatar models are OK.”

Keep plugging away, Amorey — it gets way better post-Mordor!

World of Warcraft’s recent Gnome Run drew out massive crowds of pint-sized crazies, as it always does. Looks like many of them had fun, too, including reader Hirku.

“The Gnome run was a great time,” Hirku said. “The after-party in Orgrimmar, not so much.”

Rafael is entertaining himself by creating outfits in Blade and Soul that were rewarded by a giant spinning prize wheel:

“So step right up. Step right up! Don’t be shy. Let the wheel reward your fortune! All you have to do is kill that big ugly over there. Sure you might die, but look at this sweet outfit you just might win! The resulting outfit? It’s a little breezy.”

Six million avatars die every year from inadequate clothing for their environs.

Heading back to LOTRO, Paragon Lost shares another picture of Gandalf confronting Wormtongue and Theoden. I always found Gandalf’s mercy to this jerk a little too… merciful. I mean, you don’t have to kill him, but why not throw him in Bad Guy Jail? Put him in the time out corner? Just setting him free to do more mischief seems somewhat irresponsible.

Time for another weekly screenshot challenge! With so many Halloween festivals in full swing now, take a picture of a transformed landscape, a spooky special instance, or other seasonal decorations and outfits to share with us!

Every week, One Shots shines a spotlight on the best community screenshots from your MMO adventures. If you have a great pic to share, email it to justin@massivelyop.com with the subject “One Shots.” Make sure that the picture is over 880px wide and comes with a description or story!
