Leaderboard: Are you giving Bless Online a second chance?

Bless Online officially launched, went free-to-play, left beta, and left early access all in one fell swoop yesterday, bringing to an end – or maybe just a middle – the Steam drama that gripped the MMO genre all summer. I’ve seen entirely mixed opinions on the launch, both in our comments and on Steam. On Steam Charts so far, it doesn’t look as if the game is approaching its May/June numbers, but it’s on track to top July as former players return and new players pick it up for free for the first time. Will that be enough to keep Neowiz developing the game? I don’t know.

Let’s put it to a poll: Are you giving Bless Online a second chance?

Bless Online is a disgraceful Mess Online. It has worse combo-combat than Aion Online did back in 2006 during its initial release.
To say that Neowiz are one of the most stupid and incompetent publishers/devs in Korean gaming is to do Korean gaming a disservice. There are far worse pubs/devs that I’m (thankfully) not yet aware of.

Bury this fucking trash already and go play MapleStory 2 before Nexon turns that pay to win.

I installed it a few days ago, bearing in mind everything we’ve said about it here at MOP. But I wanted to give it a fair crack of the whip and see for myself what it was like.

So, I really enjoyed the character creator. I made a few characters, and that was great. The Sims-style touch-and-drag adjustments were great. But within about 15 minutes of actually playing, I had this heavy feeling settle on me that I was wasting my time somewhat. Like, ‘If I’m going to play a Korean fantasy MMORPG, why don’t I just log back in to Archeage, with which I have already had months and years of on-and-off fun?’

To me, Bless just feels so lacklustre compared to anything else. There are some things in there, stylistically and mechanically, which are endemic to a lot of Korean games, like the small, cute, anthropomorphic races, and the announcer’s voice blaring out at odd intervals. I don’t like these things, but a lot of people do, fair enough. Mainly though, it just felt a bit under-cooked, and it wasn’t giving me enough to forgive it for long enough while more polish and development is layered on.

Having said all that, I do thank it for only asking for 49 Gigs of drive space, and wish it all the best for the future.

I tried it, but I can’t play it as the optimization is piss poor. Also the game suffers from the same issues ArcheAge and Revelation Online do – the world is poorly built – there is nothing outside the quest areas – only barren mountains with low resolution texture. The combat system with the combos is also pretty bad.

Even if the game ran fine, I’d probably be bored in a few hours and would go back to ESO.

Gave it a go the day it went F2P. I dont actually mind the combat although it’s nothing to write home about, but the performance is absolutely awful. So so so badly optimized. It’s a shame because the character models are quite gorgeous. Overall just a big Meh from me. The forced PvP sucks ass. You shouldn’t have to pay to opt out.

Played a few minutes last night… won’t be playing again. God awful performance and terrible combat! How are you supposed to initiate an attack with “1” and then proceed to chain with “R”… while moving to avoid opponents? Am I missing something or do I just not have the manual dexterity required for this game?
Also the lore is totally generic and I expect the rest of the game is too, didn’t get out of the training area… will likely give it one more go before reclaiming that 20GB HDD space.

Didn’t even give it a first chance. I was interested at first but then it was too much of a train wreck to spend time and money on.

If it had a way to opt out of forced PvP without using the cash shop, I would.

Nope and nope. At least until they let cat people play paladins, then I’ll have to try it.

Gave it a chance: holy fuck is it bad … Sadly, the game mechnics and art are superb (if a little dated) and it is technical glitches / absolutely shit ass engine performance.
