World of Warcraft factionless player Doubleagent hits 120 after years of picking herbs

World of Warcraft “celebrity” player Doubleagent has done it again: leveled to 120 solely on harvesting without ever picking a faction in the eternal WoW war.

MMO players will recall that Doubleagent’s been playing this way a long, long time. In 2013, he leveled from 1 to 60 without leaving Mists of Pandaria’s Wandering Isle, managing to stay faction-neutral. In 2014 he made it to 80. By 2015, he’d added pet battles to his repertoire on his way to 90 and then 100. In 2016, he made his way to 110 in Legion.

Now, as of last week, he’s hit level 120 – and yes, he’s still a neutral Pandaren character. Given that most of us grow bored of picking flowers in probably an hour, we think that’s worth a hearty internet high-five.

Is there a better example of “players emulating bot behaviors” than this headline? I think not.

Impossible to doubt his commitment to Sparkle Motion.

I had that Li Li wallpaper as my background for ages, so good.

It’s particularly poignant right now; being neutral in a faction war expansion nobody really wanted.

Hey I know that guy. He was on South Park. How do you kill that which has no life? 😈

I wonder if the herbs are kicking his ass now that he has hit 120 and does not have iLvl 370.

As a non wow player was that explosion like an area wide animation to show someone max leveled?

It’s from the first movie. Only the “Level 120” banner is from the game.

I decided that I wasn’t going to buy seeds in Stardew Valley after I saw a picture of winter farm from foraging. I made it to year 4 before I gave in and started buying grass starters and tree saplings so that I could have animals and make artisan goods, like jelly and cheese. So, while I don’t think I would have the patience to do what this guy is doing, I kinda get it. Playing with self-imposed restrictions can be really satisfying.

And inB4 “the dude should get a life” comments…it’s probably less tedious than farming Azerite and War Resources. Just saying. :(

I hear you there! I hit that wall early on in this expansion and haven’t been back. >.<

Also, *turns on curmudgeon voice*

"In my day you didn't xp from picking herbs! And we liked it!"

((Not really, when I returned playing some time ago and got xp for mining and such, I strongly approved, but had to get that in!))

I liked it when they used to give you buffs and baubles. :)

I wouldn’t have done that unless I could have made a bot to do it for me.
