Ascent: Infinite Realm teases players about the PvP arena

We’ve all been waiting for more information about Ascent: Infinite Realm, and the most recent teases about the game confirm something very important. You will be able to beat the stuffing out of other players. This will be a part of the game in the form of the Arena if nowhere else, and there you will be not just encouraged to fight but actively rewarded.

What will the rewards be? How many will you get? What will you be fighting over? That we don’t know yet, although the tweets teasing this gameplay mode do note that the Arena is available in 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 formats. Frankly, after the very long spell of silence only broken by new images, we’re fine with having some unanswered questions. So we’ll have to wait to find out just what you get from stepping into battle, but isn’t killing your fellow players reward enough?

No. It’s not nearly as much of a reward as a new sword. Let’s not be silly.

I’ve been following the forums of this game because I was super excited about it but I have to admit my hype has declined recently. It just seems like it’s going to be another underweleming attempt at something that could be epic but won’t be because of execution. Hope I’m wrong.

I just can’t help but think this is “Bless Online 2.0” any time I see this game. I mean, hey, it could be good and I hope so but………

It’s a good start. Now they also need 5v5 minigames and GvG. After being infatuated with Black Desert with a while and, ultimately, conceding how empty it is at it’s core I’m not really hyped by another Korean MMO. Let’s wait and see, though, I’m not relucant to give it a try.

Digression: Every time I read something about PvP in MMORPG’s I think about Age of Wushu and it’s diverse offer of PvP, it had GvG castle sieges, sect wars, battlefields, open pvp, skyladder arena and not sure what else(at least 3 big playfields whichs name I can’t recall). Sad that Snail managed to ruin it(even CN attendance has been declining over the last couple of years) and probably won’t be able to create a proper replacement(given the current state of AoW2 and the remaster). The game was in, essence, the perfext Wuxia game.
