Anthem previews character customization in latest developer livestream

As many MMO fans will attest, extensive character customization can be a big draw for a game. After all, what gamers don’t love making a character that’s uniquely their own? The folks at BioWare seem to recognize this, as the latest Anthem developer livestream focused primarily on the game’s character customization system, and boy does it ever deliver.

Players will be able to customize almost every aspect of their javelins, from color scheme to material texture. The array of options available is pretty staggering, especially for a game still relatively early in development. If you’re a sucker for cosmetics and character personalization features, the full stream is certainly worth a watch, and you can check it out yourself just below.

On top of that, Anthem is going multimedia thanks to a partnership between BioWare and Dark Horse Books, which will be publishing “a three-issue comic miniseries that will serve as a prequel story to the highly anticipated game.” The series will be written by Alexander Freed, author of the novelization of Star Wars: Rogue One and Mac Walters, author of Mass Effect: Foundation, with art from Eduardo Francisco, who has worked on a number of DC Comics titles. The first issue of the series will hit shelves on February 27th, 2019.

That ain’t a character, that ain’t nothin but a thang. More like customizing your ride, which is fine and a lot of people love it, but personally the whole exosuit wotsit leaves me cold.

I remain highly skeptical of this one. EA is EA and Bioware has completely squandered its reputation at this point.

It would be great if the game turns out to be good, but I’m refusing to get hyped for it in advance.

“a prequel to the highly anticipated game” by who? even the people who label themselves ‘Biodrones’ are looking at this with wary eyes. Like who is thinking “man destiny is great, but what if EA ran it instead of activision? that would be so much better!”?

I’m excited for it; this game looks awesome.

Only parts of Mass Effect Andromeda that were not garbage was the combat and the environments, the rest of it was a flaming garbage can full of shit … And now we have a game that is exclusively Combat and Environments, because that is the only things Bioware can be trusted to not fuck up.

Oh, I think every wag in town is highly anticipating the juicy fun of watching this crash and burn.

Don’t ask me why; I just know that it’s true.

Pass the popcorn.

I’d like for this game to be good but the reality is it won’t be until the controversy is squashed, the game saving patch 1.8 is launched and the new game director is appointed.

Unless this game has as much srpg content that ME had, Im skipping it. I already got bamboozled by Destiny. I wont want an FPS game from Bioware, I want an quality RPG that they used to be known for.
