World of Warcraft showcases the upcoming Dwarf and Blood Elf heritage armor sets

The lands of Azeroth are peopled with many a proud race — perhaps none so proud as the Dwarves and the Blood Elves, who will soon be able display their pride for all to see with the introduction of their new heritage armor sets coming to World of Warcraft when Tides of Vengeance goes live next month. In a recent update, Blizzard gave players their first looks at the full armor sets for both the stout and hardy Dwarves of Khaz Modan and the elegant, haughty Blood Elves, and we have to say, they’re looking pretty slick.

The Dwarven heritage armor is, like the Dwarves themselves, largely pragmatic but not without some ornamentation indicative of the race’s renowned craftsmanship, including the addition of golden rams’ heads on the pauldrons to pay tribute to the Dwarves’ traditional steed of choice. The Blood Elves, meanwhile, will be outfitted with typical Sin’dorei opulence in armor incorporating the race’s traditional red-and-gold hues and phoenix motifs.

The sets, like all other heritage armor sets, will be available only to max-level characters who are exalted with their respective factions (i.e., Silvermoon City for the Blood Elves and Ironforge for the Dwarves), and players can acquire them by completing a unique quest line that starts at the embassies in Orgrimmar or Stormwind. You can check out the new armor sets in all their glory in the official post on World of Warcraft’s site.

Too bad the game itself isn’t worth playing right now

Armors look fancy, but what use are there to a dead game…

Very true , who would have thought 10 years ago the much talked about WoW killer would be Blizzard itself .

Obligatory “it’s far from dead”. It’s not my cup of tea, and there are much better MMOS out there… but it’s also a safe bet that it will remain online for another decade or two at least. The only other game that can say that is FFXIV (which I actually think is one of the better games previously mentioned) through precedence (FFXI still going strong and getting monthly patches) and money (both Square’s and the money the game makes).

Though Blizzard in itself seems to be dying a slow death, I don’t think Actiblizz would shut it down. The owner and CEO of Amazon recently said that one day his company will fail. Imagine that, a trillion dollar company falling. He says even titans may fall; with that he mentioned that the warning sign that the end is coming for a company is when they focus on themselves and their investors more than they do their customers and target audience.

lol dead game. You do realize that the game still has millions of active subs, right? Millions. Just because the numbers are steadily declining over the years doesn’t even remotely make this a dead game.

You wanna see a dead game? Check out Bless Online.

Its soul is gone. It’s an useless dumbed-down grinder that you pay $15 a month to access. It’s far from alive. And the population of “millions” includes Asia and mainly China too. If we count the whole population of Lineage 1 and Lineage 2, they have only 30 million just in China. So WoW in the West only is a lot smaller than you’ve been told to believe, it has a population somewhat similar to ESO and FF14.

It’s kinda easily overlooked but the blood elf gloves have that sharp talon fingertip thing going on which I don’t think has ever been done on player armor before. Looking forward to that set a lot (Dwarf too but I don’t really play my Dwarf man that much honestly.)

Bit late on that, considering they’ve been up for show on WoWhead for a while now.

True. I also like how Apple cancels their conventions whenever someone leaks the new iPhone.

Datamining and all that, only time the sets have been “officially” shown off is at Blizzcon which the average person probably missed.

I always find it fascinating how many people don’t actually follow datamining news, always see a lot of people asking kinda obvious questions about upcoming patches in the game and on places like reddit.
