It’s beginning to look at lot like Christmas, at least in the world of Jagex’s popular free-to-play MMO RuneScape, which this week announced that its holiday festivities will be kicking off on November 30th. Throughout the month of December (and the first week of January), players can take part in the game’s Winter Weekends, wherein each weekend will provide bonuses to a different facet of the game, from dungeons and fishing to minigames and farming and more.

In addition, starting on December 1st, players can get a variety of daily goodies from RuneScape’s Advent Calendar. The prizes on offer include “lamps, prismatic stars, relics, crates, and an assortment of new cosmetics” as well as “an exclusive Christmas Day treat.” The Advent Calendar rewards will remain available until January 7th, so don’t fret if you can’t log on every single day in December.

And on top of unveiling its holiday events, the game has also received a fairly substantial patch. Although there’s not much in the way of new content on display, the update does come with a rather lengthy list of balance tweaks, bug fixes, and general improvements that are sure to be of interest to RuneScape players. If you want to read all about it, you can check out the full patch notes — as well as the list of Winter Weekend events — over at the game’s official site.
