Elder Scrolls Online is running another free-play promo this weekend

I made you this. Use it.
If you’ve somehow avoided buying The Elder Scrolls Online during one of its many “but seriously, the game is like 10 bucks” sales, then you are robbing yourself if you don’t take advantage of one of the game’s free-play events. As it happens, another one is about to begin, from Thursday, December 6th, through Tuesday, December 11th. Bonus, it works on PC, Xbox One, and PS4, all at the same time this time.

“During the Free Play Event, you’ll get access to ESO’s base game and Morrowind DLC, allowing you to explore a massive world filled with beauty and adventure as you fight to restore the demi-god Vivec’s lost powers and reclaim your stolen soul from the Daedric Prince Molag Bal. In addition to this, ESO’s base game also includes access to Cyrodiil, a massive open-world PvP zone, and the Battlegrounds, a fast-paced 4v4v4 PvP arena. Even if you already own ESO but never acquired the Morrowind DLC or Chapter, you’ll be able to travel to Vvardenfell and experience the home of the Dark Elves during the event period.”

Brand-new ESO accounts rolled for the event will collect 500 cash-shop currency too, but if you’re not truly new, it sounds like you can still pick up where you left off last time: “Any characters and progression earned from previous trial events will remain, and if you decide to buy ESO after the event, you’ll be able to continue your adventures without interruption.”

I’m sure they lost a ton of players due to the Fallout 76 crap. I know i cancelled my sub and uninstalled it because i just can not support someone trying to steal my money. Never again with this company

That’s stupid. ZOS is a different studio.

all owned by the same scum. Never again

Reader

Yeah man, they stole your money because you couldn’t wait for the game to be released and reviewed before you bought it.

If you can’t afford to lose $50, don’t gamble it on a preorder.

In Venom’s defense, people say that about NCSoft, EA, Funcom, Daybreak and Activision all the time, here and elsewhere.

Do you realize how many people are still angry over City of Heroe’s shutdown six years later and refuse to buy any NCSoft game ever again?

When people see a parent company ruin the game they love or feel the company is corrupt in some way, they will and do cancel subscriptions or otherwise refuse to patronize anything the company is associated with ever again.

I didn’t because i did a chargeback on both copy’s of games i purchased. I don’t remember Bethesda ever saying in their interviews and their showing of the game that it would be riddled with bugs, hitching, disconnects, popin, 90% blur,. I could care less what people say in reviews that do not work for the corporation and will buy it on what is promised. They did not by any margin deliver what they promised and just flat out lied.

Also i did not preorder and purchased release day. The problem is people like you think it should be a gamble on someone selling something and hoping they didn’t lie. There was a time in this country when it was not full of the scum like yourself. What a waste of human skin

Oh yeah, that’s not over the top at all…

ZOS has shown to us that they can turn things around and make a great game. I won’t make one team suffer because another one they’re related to took a shit on everything else.

Actually, ZOS took part in this piece of work: https://youtu.be/SjrDbSgB9IU?t=315

Likely to only assist in making the game playable online and as ya boi said, the fact that there were so many developers working on the game was probably the reason why it failed. Too many different teams who function differently working on the same thing is bound to have major issues.

Yeah but consumers don’t care WHY there are major issues.

I don’t care that my hamburger is delayed for 15 minutes after I paid and ordered because Becky called out sick and she’s the best burger maker they have, and Cindy just started. I just want my burger out and complete in a reasonable time as promised.

Those are really just excuses in the long run that most people don’t care about. That’s the nature of consumerism.

Your reasoning on WHY really says more about Bethesda’s ineffectiveness and leadership and casts doubt on future projects (if true).

As far as Bethesda and Todd is concerned, if your excuse as a company is “Hey guys. Sorry about the game but we put too many people on the project and we had major issues” while in the same breath you’re literally bragging about how it is the biggest project and you needed to have everyone ‘chip in’… that’s comical AF.

Yeah alright, but they wouldn’t say that as an excuse even if it was the issue because it would cause them to lose even more credibility with everyone just like the whole canvas vs nylon fiasco where they tried to make an excuse that there was a shortage of the canvas material to save face (which obviously backfired).

I know how consumers are but I’m not talking or looking at them right now. We people as a whole aren’t so very bright anyways when it comes to being consumers. I’m in it for myself because I want to know why.

I don’t think so, most players know the difference between ZoS and Bethesda. This event is set a couple of time per year, it’s common and I welcome it. I have a friend that will use it to try the game.

Isn’t it 1650 crowns for a monthly subscription? Or am I reading this wrong?

Reader
Venomlicious

i’m sure its 500 crowns but that is pretty worthless when the good items are 5000+ with houses and a portable vendor and bank.

yes, you get 1650 crowns for subscribing, but new accounts are getting 500 for free as an enticement I guess.

Wonder why they keep doing this.

More potential Crown Store customers? It’s the first thing you see splashed across the screen when you log in.

Reader
Venomlicious

This also. Just look at the shop in fallout 76 with limited time items and almost 20 bucks per outfit. I went into the shop and thought it was the atoms shop Brought to You by Kakao games

Reader
Castagere Shaikura

That’s not even the bad part. This guy put together a list of item being sold that dropped for free in Fallout 4. They are selling items from from fallout 4 for real money in the 76 shop.

Reader
Castagere Shaikura

LOL yeah i forgot that one.

Dantos

since it’s not an f2p, I guess they want to give opportunities every so often to get people to try and buy it.

Reader

I wouldn’t be surprised if it actually went F2P. The extra revenue from the crown store might very well be higher than what they give up by not charging for the base game anymore.
