One of the many games under Funcom’s ever-widening umbrella is Mutant Year Zero, and in fact it’s officially launched as of today as planned. Developer The Bearded Ladies has pushed it live on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 simultaneously with a base price of $34.99, and though it’s not an MMO, it’s had our attention over the last year as Funcom returns to its place of power.

Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden combines XCOM-like tactical, turn-based combat with real-time stealth and exploration of a post-human Earth. It is developed by The Bearded Ladies, a team made up of former HITMAN and PAYDAY developers among others. The game is part of a broader Mutant IP which includes the ’80s pen and paper RPG Mutant that has a loyal following across the world and is frequently seeing new releases.”

MOP’s Andrew played the game at GDC and again at E3, finding the combat tactical and tough – so tough almost no one could beat the demo. Check out the new cinematic trailer below!
