World of Warcraft preps to unlock Battle for Dazar’alor and previews post-BFA content

We’re four days away from the release of World of Warcraft’s Tides of Vengeance content update, and Blizzard has posted a new update giving players the run-down of everything they can expect when it goes live. Of course, there’s the new Battle for Darkshore warfront and Faction Assaults, the new island expeditions, the new Gnomeregan pet battle dungeon, and the new heritage armor for Blood Elves and Dwarves, but the list doesn’t end there. The update will also add new chapters to the war campaign questline and a new currency, Titan Residuum, that players can use to purchase Azerite armor instead of relying purely on random drops.

The post also officially announces the release date of the new Battle of Dazar’alor raid, which will be opening its doors on January 22nd, 2019, when the normal and heroic difficulties will become available. The raid’s mythic difficulty will unlock alongside the first raid finder wing a week later on January 29th, with the second and third raid finder wings following on February 12th and February 26th, respectively. For all the details on everything coming with Tides of Vengeance, you can check out the full post for yourself over at WoW’s official site.

I actually torn on this expansion, thus definitely making it a step back from Legion which was superb. On one hand I like the legion 2.0 approach with more things to do other than raiding or dungeoneering at max level. Islands is a great idea that can be made better over time.

Its funny. I keep reading that the expansion is boring. Too much RNG. Loot is fast and easy. But when I play I’m dying.. at max level. I’m 311 after weeks of play and have a sense of progression through my heart of Azeroth. Im slowly getting stronger simply by the fact I can see my damage increase. I have to play the game to see more of it. Thats enticing to me.

But after a half hour of playing I question the reason for playing. The dungeons feel too long for the value. The rewards aren’t meaningful. And Im sorry, I don’t want a toy or a mount (well… maybe the mount). I don’t mind the random loot, but I do hate the fact I can’t plan what I want to play for. So I log off.

The whole thing feels like the people who made Legion left, and the new team tried to copy it without understanding what made it work.

Only to want to log in the next day.

You’ll have it much easier in the world soon, since at 320 we can access warfronts, and move to 340.

“Post-BfA content” in the title means 8.1? That is, BfA is intended to mean 8.0 here I suppose. I always thought about all 8.x patches as part of BfA.

I’d love to hear stuff about post-BfA expansion :)

Do we really need a survival guide for this?

I dont even understand what that means. Its a promotional video listing the new features and functionality of the patch. What are we surviving?

I’ll give it another 6 months of patches and then I’ll come back to it.

It’s this coming week already? Jeez it felt so much further away, must be just a lil apathy on my part and the splitting of content releases into smaller chunks on theirs

About the same time SWTOR finally wakes up then, bar last minute mandatory delays… that one I was definitely looking for, for some reason it didn’t click until now that the two patches overlapped

Everything they announced sounds like a phone . You have them don’t you? Rng Rng Rng Rng. They added a new currency and to get the top azerite gear you better to be ready to put in 8 hours a day for a month to get anything better then 350 ilvl.

I logged in for 20 min yesterday and all i saw was the few people talking going on about they were logging out to play something fun. Farewell World of Warcraft you were fun about 6 years ago.

Everything “Black Mirror” does sounds like a phone, but people love that show too.

8 hours a day for a month to get anything better then 350 ilvl.

This is just blatantly false. The Faction Assaults alone drop 370 gear, not to mention the multitude of other ways of gearing that don’t require eight hours a day.

BfA has done a lot of things wrong, but making things up to be upset about isn’t helping anyone.
