Let’s get something out of the way very quickly. Wielding Mjolnir in Rend will probably not allow you to fly, nor will it give you Chris Hemsworth’s good looks and ultimately be destroyed by Cate Blanchett. It’s just an insanely powerful hammer and one of the first wave of the game’s new Artifacts, powerful weapons and equipment that serve as double-edged swords. Sure, they make you hugely powerful, but they also make you a target for enemy factions in the hopes of claiming these tools for their own.
The latest patch adds in more than just artifacts, though; the new map more effectively funnels players into small areas, a number of improvements have been made to armor for balance purposes, and several creatures out in the world have been made more responsive and active. Check out the full patch notes, and if you’re lucky enough to get your hammer and want to put on “Immigrant Song” as you smash through the enemy faction… well, we’re not going to stop you.
