Fallout 76’s latest update fixes crash bug and item duping exploit

Going nowhere, going nowhere.

Bethsoft just patched in another update for Fallout 76, and it’s not exactly going to light the world on fire, but it does include fixes to several annoyances, including the crash-to-desktop problem that I’m pretty sure every Bethsoft game ever has. It also fixes an item duping exploit, adds Korean language support, and addresses “an issue that could prevent high-damage and explosive weapons from dealing damage to enemies, or cause enemies to heal immediately after taking damage.”

One thing it doesn’t do? Fix the rumored “trade-steal exploit” that’s had Reddit freaking out this week. But that might just be because the exploit doesn’t exist. Nobody seems to be able to prove it one way or another. So maybe don’t go panicking just yet.

Still, at least they changed the wording on the Xmas bundles on the Atom Store so they don’t potentially get done by the FTC for deceptive pricing.

Which is nice.

The hang on exit to desktop thing is the only bug I’ve noticed recently apart from the small non-game breaking visual bugs and such.

All in all I’m still having a good time in Appalachia! I’m still fairly low level, 28 I think.

If anyone want to play together on PC friend add me: Sorrov

Not surprised it’s a smaller hotfix right before Christmas week.

In mid-January, we will be releasing another patch that contains many fixes, including fixes for the Lever-Action Rifle reload animation, some perk cards, and we’re dealing some crowd control at the Whitespring by implementing a fix for the robots duplicating on the resort grounds. Full patch notes will be available at a later date that covers all the fixes featured in this update.
We understand that sometimes the patch notes themselves aren’t enough, and you want to know why we’re making certain balance changes or adjustment. Beginning in 2019, patch notes will include some brief thoughts from our developers that hopefully gives the community more insight into the changes we’re making and why.
We’re also hard at work on a new mode where you can work together, or not, without PVP restrictions. We’re already having fun playing it at the office and we’re hopeful to roll it out to all of you sometime in the first quarter of the year.

And there’s the goodish news. Will most likely be two weeks of radio silence due to Christmas/New Years, but looking forward to what 2019 will bring.

Item Duping is my favorite part of Bethesdas games, lol.

I remember using my Bow in Oblivion to dupe tons of items to sell to NPC’s for gold.

I’m hanging in, and hanging on. Much more to fix Bethesda, but yes this helps.

As long as they fixed the hang on exit, that’s the only real bug i have.

Crazy busy and so are the peeps i play with so i started a solo character to play with for any time i can squeeze in.

You want Fallout experience, start playing now.

It’s much different starting out now than at launch, you are so alone. Before you would run into peeps all the time, now, the map is still packed with players but they are so far out you don’t run into them. For non pvp players, most players are level 50+ and no one is wanted. pvp seems to pretty much not exist. I was doing feed the peeps solo at level 6 lol, and this level 84 toon comes in helps the entire time, then takes off.

I think i’m going to have trouble playing in a group again i’m enjoying the experience that much. Solo or group the game is superb in delivering a true Fallout experience, i still catch myself trying to hit F5 at times but yea no, this is real Fallout, even i forget.

I started out solo, grouped allot. Now starting a new solo toon is like starting over again but this time the experience is even better, can’t wait to play again.

The game grows on you and believe it’s a tad ahead of it’s time also depends on the type of player you are, social or solo explorer types will love the game. For many of us they hit the ball out of the park, it’s game dream come true.

Find your groove on how you like to play the game, don’t rush to cap. On my solo guy i only have 1 quest cue’d at a time, and uncheck all others. Before we would start a quest and there is just so much content in the world the night ends and we be like weren’t we working on this quest? OK tomorrow then, same story the next night, lol.

As i travel i pop in a holo tape to listen on the way to a quest objective, the game is so immersive now. I loved that in Firefall, listening to lore and quest dialog as you play instead of cemented in a view, uggg that just feels so antiquated now.

A few bugs down, 240,000 more to go as well as a total game re-balance pass, and some endgame content added, and we’ll have a launch worthy game.

Wouldn’t duping items fit into the category of making your own fun in a sandbox? Since they didn’t put anything in the game who cares if you dupe things?

from what i’ve seen alot of people are less concerned about other people having many OP guns and more about getting unwanted weight in their stash/inventory by proccing these dupes accidentally.

i mean yes some people are upset that the so called economy is flooded with double shot explosive combat shotguns and such but mostly with these exploits people just don’t want to be affected by them personally as for most people the dupe options aren’t quite so glamourous lol

i mean. it means infinite caps which means any hopes of setting up a player run economy would be DoA
