Fortnite’s boombox weaponizes rockin’ tunes

Boomboxes aren’t just for John Cusack to declare his undying love outside of your bedroom window — now the chunky music maker is now a certified weapon in Fortnite.

Hey, don’t act like this is anything weird at this point. “Drop the bass with the newest item available in Battle Royale, the Boom Box! Crank the volume and toss it at enemy structures to tear down their defenses,” Epic said. Expect strongly worded letters from your HOA afterward.

Over in the game’s Save the World mode, PvE gamers can enjoy the new Pain Train assault rifle, the Christmasy Tree of Light sword, and a series of special Frostnite challenge missions. Hope you like slipping and sliding around!

Feeling it’ll be Good Nite Fortnite not long from now. Fads always fade.

For that to occur something good would need to be on the horizon – there isn’t.

True, wasn’t trying to be negative i love the fact that gamer’s gather on this thing, but i don’t see long life span given what its singular concept is.

Well Epic reportedly made $3B on the thing – if it were up to me I’d make damn sure that singular thing is going to become whatever it is people want. That is a lot of money to figure it out.

I think it already is fading. The Fortnite fatigue is starting to show quite a bit. Folks in the ‘Competitive’ scene are starting to burn out because Epic doesn’t take it seriously; they’re just throwing a lot of money at it to keep people interested in getting a piece of it. They keep adding in new things and try to change the game up on a constant basis and it’s going to hit a wall sooner or later.

Like they have to keep coming up with new things that change the game up in significant ways, from planes to go karts and so on. Eventually I imagine there’ll be some form of tank, port-a-fort will be expanded, and there’ll probably be turret-type traps. They’ll also probably try to add in some other melee options to try and make the Infinity Sword (which was a weaker Thanos Infinity Gauntlet) work in normal mode. Maybe they’ll have grenades that create spike trap boxes that players can get caught in or something. Who the heck knows.

Either way I don’t see Fortnite having the same pull or influence in 2019 that it did in 2018.
